Recently had to say goodbye to the Rise of the TMNT crew. I was only there for a few months but It was amazing getting to work with so many people I admire and respect. One of the things I find very interesting about the new Splinter and shredder backstory has moved from fighting over and the death of a woman in this conflict. to a badass lady sealing a demon away and her family line keeping that shit on lock. I don’t want to applaud a fish for swimming but in a franchise that’s very male centric it feels nice that women can still be involved and relevant without being dead wives like look at how much ol’girl pops in this pic and tell me we won’t get an even fuller backstory on her. She’s so cool I can’t wait.

And I like the way they managed to also still personally connect Shredder, Splinter and the turtles while switching up the backstory like rise has got me invested in tmnt in a way I hadn’t been since 2003 and I’m really greatful for that tbh.
