There's something about Warden Surana specifically that consumes my brain more than anything. You're an elf, so you serve humans. You're a mage, so you serve mankind. You're a Grey Warden, so you serve as everyone's protector and must die for them. Here is a person raised their entire life taught that they are lesser than those around them and must live to serve. Here is a person taught that their wants, their freedom, simply cannot happen. Yet... you can survive. Surana can look the ultimate sacrifice in the face and refuse to make that. The lamb raised for sacrifice runs from the altar. What does that mean for them as a person? To finally break free from everything they've been told? Isn't it harder to live than just lay down and die as ordered... there is so much to explore there ugh. Everyone should tell me more about Suranas that survive please and thank you

#op you are COOKING #never connected the themes of forced sacrifice like that. surana is my fav warden but I could never fully place why #I think there is just so much more depth to the story when using a character who is already in some way being coerced or forced #is once again coerced. and rather than anyone standing up for them and valuing them as surana #they only see them as am acceptable sacrifice for the greater good. and if surana complains about that they are bad #'you WILL sacrifice everything and be happy about it'#which is the core of the grey wardens #but it's different when it's not a choice. when it's just another sacrifice you are told to make. and you have to be grateful #mmmmmmm the angst is tasty #reblog #dragon age origins #warden surana #surana

So one of the revenants is called Slaughter of the Pillars, which (I think?) is the manifestation of the Titans' anguish. As spirits can reflect anything it makes perfect sense they could do this but - if you think about it, since there are spirits out there mimicking Titans' emotions, there could also be spirits mimicking Titans in their entirety which is... huh. Like imagine there is a mountain somewhere that is just a bigass ghost.

#WAIT HOLY SHIT OP YOURE ON TO SOMETHING #remember sundermount? in Da2? they said there was a battle between ancient tevinter and arlathan that unleashed demons #what if the battle took place shortly after the titans fall? what if the reason the mountain had clinged to these demons for so long was #because it itself was a spirit/demon of the titans #vengeful against the elves. so it keeps the monsters to destroy forever #and would explain why the demon was interested in ruining Merrill through the eluvians!! it's like poetic justice to them #reblog #dragon age veilguard #da2
