                  “Okay, so is there like anyway I can avoid anymore drama that may potentially come?” Cayden muses, hitching an eyebrow.

Alec glanced up at the female, looking up from the computer. He furrowed his brow, running a hand through his hair. “To just do your job and keep your head down,” Alec said, rolling his eyes. “Believe me, I’m trying to avoid drama too. But it’s a little difficult in our world.”

The admittance left Magnus slightly baffled, not exactly knowing what to do with it for a moment before warmness started growing inside him. A gift for him, honestly… He couldn’t even remember the last time someone had done that. Most people tended to assume Magnus already had everything he could want or the means to get it himself, so it was fruitless even trying.

He knelt down in front of Alec and took his face in his hands, giving him a soft kiss. “You are a gift,” he said, with sincerity, before smiling and shrugging. “Very well then, but don’t stress too much about it, messes don’t bother me. Are you sure you don’t want help looking? You don’t need to tell me what it is if you don’t want to miss the surprise.”

The Shadowhunter couldn’t help but lean into those gentle touches, closing his eyes for just a moment. They were welcome and Alec sighed happily, though his cheeks turned slightly pink. He shook his head when Magnus suggested helping, leaning up to brush their lips together tenderly.

“It’s okay,” he said gently. “I can clear this up, it won’t take very long. And hopefully I can find the gift while I do and give it to you. Do you have any idea what you want to do tonight? I’ve told Jace and Izzy not to bother me so I’m all yours.”

“ YOU ARE NOT welcome here. leave. ”   she’s never seen the other before, has confronted very few stragglers through her woods, but he’s different; scathach does NOT like it.

The words took him by surprise and Alec looked up, his bow armed and ready, pointing at the figure. But something about the figure in front of him made him HESITATE and he tilted his head just a little. “I don’t even know where ‘here’ is,” Alec said truthfully. The portal was different to the usual ones and had brought him here. And now? Alec wasn’t sure where he was, or how to get home.
