&& HEADCANON ; SEXUALITY & PREFERENCES : BLOG CANON * OBVIOUS DISCLAIMER; I'm talking about people that are appropriate for someone Cassie's age. She's a young adult, obviously I don't mean anything gross. When I use generalizations it's just for the sake of simplicity, common sense still applies.
Cassie is Bisexual, plain and simple this girl likes EVERYONE. She'd tell you she thinks everyone is beautiful -- and she means it. When people talk about puppy love and getting a crush every other week, she is the definition of that. This girl has so much love in her heart to give, she also naturally tends to be playful which can come across as flirty.
Her relationship with Kon was extremely important to her and she still regards Kon as her best friend to this day. COUGHS LOUDLY, now I do have to say something. Erasing Cassie in favor of Tim is kinda bullshit, Kon can date BOTH!! It's FINE let multiple people in friend groups date, it's more than fine it's realistic. I don't enjoy people hopping on the hate train when it comes to Cassie just because people prefer Tim and Kon. Cassie and Kon's relationship was so important to her character and they mean a lot to each other in general. Characters can date and break up, characters can be exes, I feel like a broken record here.
Regardless, young justice was messy -> Cassie dated a lot of her friends in her teenage years. Kon was her big one and it hurt the most, after him she tried to focus more on heroics. That lasted for awhile before meeting Cass in my canon. Cass and Cassie are my blog canon and they are my endgame. ( @vigilantaes )
However, as a generalization Cassie never stops getting crushes. She's a lovesick demigoddess, she can't help it. She's 100% cool with open and poly stuff in her adulthood, but Cass isn't -- so obviously they don't do that. Cassie will outlive Cass 1000+x over and will she date again after she's dead? Yeah, but she never remarries. She stays Cassandra Wayne.

Manicured nails take the knife and hold it, staring at her girlfriend with a suspicious look. Is this a clue? Was she trying to tell her something? Oh gods, did it have something to do with Joker or worse? Who could be worse, she couldn't think of anyone but give her a second.

"Is this about Poison Ivy?", she examined the knife. It felt so obvious, because uh...well because? Okay so it wasn't so obvious, but plants sometimes need to be cut but you--- wait no you chop vegetables! No. She was missing something.
"I'm going to be honest Cass, I don't know what the knife is for. I'm not really a knife girly, but I mean I can...punch with a knife in my hand? I think? Diana might not like the knife.", the blonde chatters before looking down to see the bat pushing a cake towards her with a confused blink.
"OH! It's for the cake. Wait, or is this a riddle? Oh my god is this about the Riddler?"
Before she was permitted to go on another train of thought the knife was snatched from her and the cake was cut. The older girl clearly growing impatient to eat the dessert she had brought home for them to share.
&& mobile HC. Cassie is the type of person who wouldn’t grab a plate for quick foods. She’ll eat out of the bag or carry around a slice of pizza. I’m sorry, she would be the type to just set a sandwich on the counter and drink from the juice carton. She also sometimes gets distracted and leaves that item on the counter.

&& MOBILE. Cassie loves Valentine’s Day, to be fair cassie loves all holidays. She can get excited about every holiday but especially the big ones. Valentines day is all about love and this girl loves love. She has the personality of a golden retriever so she’ll take any excuse to be affectionate and remind people she loves them. Romantically and platonically. I actually HC cassie to be poly, but because Cass isn’t comfortable with the idea she obviously doesn’t act on it. This girl gets crushes though, so many.
&& Mobile HC. Cassie considers the OG Teen Titans to be kind of like really cool older siblings. Donna has always been someone she idolized and when she joined the team for a hot second she was extremely intimidated since she thought they were all so cool. She’s still kind of intimidated by them, because in her mind they’ll always be the coolest people she knows.

So one key thing I wanted in my portrayal is that cassie has distinct differences between Diana and Donna. In her portrayals she’s often either a copy of them or is an over emotional plot device. I think there is a balance somewhere in here because I actually love that Cassie isn’t an Amazon from the get go. It’s something she has to earn in a way, so she grew up in the world of man very influenced by the world of man. I think that makes her more unpredictable (dangerous) and also makes her more emotionally charged. I actually love that as a character trait, it makes her feel so much more human than the other two and that’s kind of the point because she is. I hate that when Diana points this out it’s always in scenes where she’s talking down to Cassie, because I think it has its own strengths and weaknesses. I think it presents fun challenges that the other two don’t have or have in different ways.
One example is Cassie gets SCARED, she is scared of things. Sure she’s brave and cocky but she’s also a teenager in most portrayals. She gets scared, she gets angry, she gets sad and these all result in reckless behavior. However, she’s also extremely kind and understanding, she’s gentle (emotionally which clashes with her agro behavior physically) and has a very optimistic and loving view on things. I think that makes her wondergirl/Wonder Woman experience unique because she’s half human and looking at it all in this youthful lens — all this to say I like writing her with charged emotions, making mistakes, but still being endearing. She’s not a full fledged hero and I want it to feel like that, when she ends up interacting with big players I want it to feel like she fucked up. I know I could go the OP route because honestly Cassie has a lot of powers and abilities and make her a little more untouchable but it’s that human vulnerability in her I think that makes her character so endearing. She’s not as untouchable as Diana or Donna and I strive for that in my portrayal even if it’s not 100% canon.
&& MOBILE HC. Cassie has a bunch of stuffed animals but her favorite is a plush dog from her childhood. Cass and Cassie’s bed is just a pile of pillows, blankets and stuffed animals. — they also absolutely coated the walls in those glow in the dark stick on stars. Cassie has put at least one in Diana and Donna’s homes respectfully. They’ll find it eventually. Sorry I have an addition, she has also left those stars in the Teen Titans HQ she was part of that team for a second so you’ll also find them there.

&& HEADCANON ;; ANIMAL SYMBOLS *Did you really think I'd half ass an animal question? No. Never.
So Cassie has a few really solid choices. Three main ones I think stick out to me. A griffin, A lioness and a golden retriever.

A Griffin: This one is the most fantastical choice which fits because demigoddess. However, there is a reason I specifically decided on this one. The description is as follows. a mythical creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion, typically depicted with pointed ears and with the eagle's legs taking the place of the forelegs.-- Eagles are one of Zeus' main symbols and that's her father where a lion is commonly used to represent her famous half brother Heracles. While it is a combination of both of these things it also is its own creature that surpasses the two individually a representation of the greatest is yet to come in terms of power. I actually gave Cassie a Griffin by the name of Sunshine Whiskers because I love this symbolism for her.
What does a Griffin Symbolize?
This creature is often referred to as a divine guardian, and it can be symbolic of enlightenment, fidelity, independence, good, evil, wisdom, strength, vengeance, loyalty, and majesty.

A lioness: As described above a lion was associated pretty heavily with her half brother and in the comics he can be seen wearing lion symbols and even in an Amazon play they represent him by wearing a lion pelt. This carries on the tradition and also just fits Cassie very well. Here is just a brief overview of some meanings. -- Also if you really want to be on the nose Cassie is also GOLD and a GOLD lion.
What does a lioness symbolize? Its most common traits are: majesty, strength, courage, justice, and military might. It can be both solar and lunar. Commonly reffered to as "the KING of the beasts," it is a symbol of Kingly power and might, but as the lioness it is commonly related to the Great Mother and protection.

A Golden Retriever: This one is a little more modern, or a more modern take. I choose this because Cassie herself is modern, she represents a lot of things in her comics and YOUTH is a very common one. As a goddess one day she will probably get her OWN animal symbols and I think this one would be the one I'd tie to her the most. Dogs of golden fur. This one is unique to her and yet also calls back to her lineage and story -- Ares commonly is associated with dogs. Another half brother of hers and Wonder Woman's biggest villain. Cassie has the potential for great good and great evil, thats what every single one of her animal symbols have been pointing at. While all the symbols are relatively positive in the past they've all been used to hurt the Amazons and kill thousands of people. She is continuing tradition but is not bound to follow the same fate as those before her -- she can break the mold of expectation and that's why the dog is the perfect symbol for her.

A Faithful companion and reliable protector, the dog is also a symbol of loyalty, honesty, and companionship
&& Mini Mobile HC. Cassie is not a picky eater, she will try anything once. She has a really diversified pallet since she spent most of her childhood traveling around the world with her mom and later Diana.

&& Mobile character note. Cassie has a pretty bad fear of poison, which is a problem when Gotham is a dime a dozen for poison. It’s one of her only weaknesses, while most poison can’t kill her (unless you have a strong enough poison to kill a god) it still makes her lose control. Cassie on a good day is destructive — on a bad day an extreme danger. On fear toxin? A nightmare. Cassie’s always been in my mind the obvious choice to surpass Diana one of these days — she has the most potential. Since poison is also one of Diana’s only real concerns makes sense it’s also Cassie’s. Ofc Diana didn’t decide to marry a Wayne and move to Gotham where every villain has that available at any given time. I imagine even joker toxin would cause her to freak out, so anything strong fear toxin and anything god forbid made by Ivy. It’s pretty much game over for her.

how odd it is that they are so alike without sharing blood. there have been times too when she has hidden behind gentle smiles to dissuade worry / preferring to carry her burden upon mighty shoulders silently and without complaint. and far more willing to take on the burden for others. diana's face turned down in a slight frown as she poses such statement without confrontation.
would perhaps have let cassandra go with only some words meant to soothe and a reminder that the amazon is always there for the young girl , if not for the falling tears.
instead , the amazon crouches down putting herself more on the girls level , her hand on her shoulder. i am here. such words do not need to be said : diana would do anything for cassandra and the sight of her tears etch worry lines into diana's own face.
she will not take the offered stars , curling the demigoddess' fingers back around the items and guiding that fist to her chest , diana's hand remaining splayed over it. ❛ these -- your gifts , they are yours. as wonder girl or not. just as you will always be my sister. ❜ diana is careful in her prying / a gentle hand and nature that expects nothing , only giving up an ear and the time to those in need.
❛ it is okay if you are not ready , i will be around for a long time should your mind ever change. but it should be your choice. ❜ and while diana may be many things , she could not know the root cause of this sudden recanting , so she instead apologizes for a believed wrongdoing. ❛ if i have made you feel like i am not proud of you -- that i do not think you capable -- ❜
What was once a towering figure is now more on her level, and that stings. She should have known Diana would have never been the type to just let her go after this outburst. It would have been so much easier if there were harsh words or angry accusations thrown her way. Alas that wasn't going to happen, and instead she found a hand of comfort firmly upon her shoulder. The sob she choked out couldn't be held back, why was she making this choice harder?
The stars in her hand pressed into her skin as she clutched them firmly, partially out of relief and partially out of desperation. She wore them every day, and with so much pride. Offering them even once was no easy feat and she didn't think she could bear trying to part with them twice. Even if she did quit here and now, at least she could always have THIS reminder for herself. The demigoddess wanted to say thank you or more, but instead only nodded at her mentor's words. It felt like a goodbye, even though it didn't need to be.
The extended offer was generous, and that was where she expected this conversation to end. A bittersweet goodbye, but what came out of the hero's mouth next made her blood run cold -- "What? No! No! You've never done that, I...it's not...", her words warble as she bites her lip -- hesitant to continue. However, this is Diana, she's always understood her more than anyone.
"It's not you. You're not the reason I have to give this all up. It's never going to be you, or the Justice League, or- or Kon, Bart, Tim...", her attention shifts away from Diana, she can't look at her when talking about this. "It's about my Mom, I don't want to be a bad daughter anymore." This information was painful as she pulled from the amazon's comforting grasp.
"She doesn't like Wonder Girl, and honestly I'm not even sure she likes Super Heroes. The comments are getting really hard to hear -- I feel like a monster around her."
