consent through fear is not consent

if some of y'all honestly believe this isn’t true (I know some people do, mostly men, because I’ve posted about this before and gotten such opposition against it), consider the fact that it’s literally illegal CONSENT DOES NOT ALWAYS INVOLVE THE WORD NO you can ~not~ say no and still be raped or sexually assaulted

LET HER SPEAK

It’s almost as if nobody wants to admit that they might not be prepared to do the work it takes to love somebody. And it can be laborious. To be intimate with someone who is flawed (which is the standard) requires us to expose our own flaws. We don’t talk about the heavy responsibility of that. We don’t talk about how we’re too lazy or too cowardly sometimes. We instead accuse love of being elusive. It isn’t. It is omnipresent. It asks us to be better people. And sometimes we flat out refuse.

you have this idea in your head that the only time you’re worthy of being loved is when you’re at your best. you’re still worthy of being loved when you’re at your lowest. you’re still worthy of being loved when you don’t want to go on anymore. you are still worthy of being loved even when you don’t love yourself. you are a human and therefore always worthy of being loved and don’t you fool yourself into thinking otherwise.
