rebekah hadn't expected caroline to know what whiney elena was up to with her mother but clearly the brunette had informed her. apparently she was out to ruin her life, and for what? so she could have stefan back? cry her a river. when caroline said she wasn''t there to talk about it rebekah smiled ever so slightly. being cast away by your mother was one thing but then everyone in town siding with her was another. however she was not expecting the apology that came from the other blondes mouth, telling that she was truthful rebekah sighed before finally looking at the other. ''i know we've done some...questionable things. but this...this is something else.'' she didn't have it in her for a sarcastic comment to the other, she was sad that her mother played them all pretending she wanted all of her family back together when in reality it was to destroy it once more. it's like she'd forgotten she'd done this to them in the first place. ''I hope she can live with her choice.''

the blonde's expression softened as rebekah spoke. "yeah but....all of us have done terrible things." she paused, lips pressing together for a moment before continuing. "even i...i've killed someone. none of us are perfect. but...people have a chance to do good things. to be better." it sounded cheesy she knew, but every day she helped tyler or protected her friends, it felt like she was doing better.

stiles blinked, trying to refocus his attention on caroline's words. "oh, no, i totally heard you." he replied with a forced smile, though his mind was still drifting in a haze of exhaustion. "you were... talking about... uh.. hybrid drawings? yeah, got it." he murmured, hoping he hadn't missed anything crucial. his thoughts felt like a tangled mess, and he was struggling to keep up. but, he didn't want to worry caroline. so, he put on a brave face and locked himself back into the conversation. "what kind of drawings are we talking about?" an eyebrow arched suggestively.

he finds himself torn between a shred of hope versus a certainty that, were she to realize it was him lurking behind her, she wouldn't have offered up the invitation at all. still, he takes advantage and slips easily enough into the seat opposite her. "how nice to be welcomed." though the smile he flicks her way isn't quite as up to its usual arrogance; not after the ball and not after their last conversation ended the way it did, when caroline had delivered such a brutally honest assessment of his entire personality. klaus could say a million different things, but what he opens with is: "what subject are we studying today?"

her body tenses, jaw clenching at the sound of the man's voice. if she never heard an english accent again it would be too soon. straightening in her seat, blue eyes focused on his smile, fighting the urge to scoff at him. instead her lips pressed into a thin line, glancing down at her work before her gaze returned to him. "psychology. so unless you were freud's patient and that's the reason i've got to learn about daddy issues, which would explain so much, i suggest you leave me alone."

erica found herself wondering if caroline forbes even remembered that she existed. they'd been in a couple of classes together. but, before she became a hot ass werewolf, she was very much a wallflower. apart from when she was seizing, of course. crystal hues watched the blonde from afar, see the way she colour coordinated her notes. it reminded her of stiles, and his own affinity for using such means. erica had been a little wary of intersecting herself back into the land of the living, considering most of the population of mystic falls would likely remember the headlines when her body was found. she only hoped that caroline wouldn't have paid enough attention to her in school to realise that it was her. the words she spoke had brows raising, a slight smirk then crossing her face. erica then sat opposite the other blonde, lightly nudging the notebook, smudging caroline's work. "oops." a soft, not so sincere, hum left the woman. "so sorry about that," she feigned an apologetic expression, nose wrinkling a little.

caroline tried to silence the irritated noise in her throat, a strangled huff managing to slip through her lips. well, no use hiding her annoyance now. a glare focused itself on the other blonde. she was...familiar. erin...emma...erica? they'd shared some classes - she'd seen her name on the list of missing girls in the flood of 'animal attacks' and assumed the worst. "uh...can i help you?"

caroline couldn't imagine how bonnie was feeling. after her mother coming, only to flee, and having the pressure of being the only witch in their little circle of vampires. "trust me, i'm not here to bring bad news. or...good, really. i just...i thought you could do with some company."

there was a level of...awkwardness in the air. of course, caroline had known something was up - elena had met with esther privately after all - but this? the spell that elena explained...it sounded cruel. "i'm not...i'm not here to talk about it." she said softly, trying to sound sympathetic without sounding entirely pitiful over rebekah. she'd hurt people, people caroline cared about. but for her own mother to do this...well, that warranted a small white flag to be waved for the moment. "just...i'm sorry. it's...it's really awful."

"seriously?" a scoff followed her question, hand lowering where she'd been clicking her fingers to catch stile's full attention. "you haven't been listening to a word i've said, have you?" either that, or he thought getting drawings of herself from an original hybrid was the funniest thing since coach finstock had to sub in for sex ed.
