"Thank you for everything, my most cherished." [lightdragon-destruction]
“YOU say that like I’ll be going away for years, Flynn.” Asbel stated,a small note of sadness leaking into his words. While that was, by all standards, true Flynn did not need to confirm it with a goodbye. Who knew, maybe Asbel would return after so many years of isolation. He had done itbefore, finally coming out of his manor after his initial embarrassment, granted the person who brought him out was no longer around. “I’m only going tolive there for a while, I’ll be back.” On the other hand, maybe Flynn wascorrect to worry, time was simply an illusion to Asbel, and with no one thereto pull him out of said illusion…it could have been years until he returnedwith a smile on his face and a blade at his side.
“I promise, I’llbe back,” with those words said he slowly grasped the commandant’s armoredones, very aware that he never [felt] Flynn’s skin there and wouldmost likely never get the chance to, as he looked deep into pained sapphireeyes. “But can you promise me,” Asbel was very tempted to tell Flynn to waituntil he returned, but instead he finished, “you’ll find someone else in themeantime?” It was a cruel thing to have Flynn promise, after what they shared, after being sure of what their bond meant to each other, after promising to beat each other’s sides for the rest of their lives no matter how short or long that may be.
“So can you dothat?” Asbel knew, oh, Asbel knew, how conflicted Flynn was at that moment, those sapphire eyes could never hide their passion, their sadness, theirbetrayal, especially not from someone who had learned how to read his significantother so well. If he was crying he was not completely aware, but he could feelsomething streaking down his face as he placed a kiss on the other’s lips, onejust like their first, full of fumbles and full of innocence, full of thefierce love he felt for the gallant blond that he had courted for so long.
He stood there, lips pressed against each other, arms now around [his] blond’s neck, as he broughthim closer. Asbel knew Flynn would comply; they would never be close like thisagain. Once he left, Asbel would be a completely different person; a personFlynn would not know how to love like he loved the lord in front of him and soclose. Suddenly he was aware of the hot liquid that streaked down his face, tears, tears because he knew that Asbel’s promise would be broken, tears, because Asbel would never return the [same] as he had left.
After what seemedlike an eternity, they separated, but only their lips as various body parts stillintertwined.
With strength, strength Asbel knew he would need, he painted a gentle smile upon his own faceand uttered, “I love you Flynn, please remember that.” It was almost cruel tohear those words come from his face because chances were Asbel would never utterthem again.
