this might be cringe but project sekai really DID change people’s lives for the better. because at the root of all these different characters and storylines, they’re all teenagers trying to find their way through life and accomplishing their dreams, and that’s fucking inspiring. especially in a mental health epidemic where so many kids are severely depressed or struggling with mental health, having fictional teenagers who have similar experiences or problems and having them be resolved can be so reassuring. not only the kids too, but the adults can relate to with some of the material that PJSK’s covering. there’s something so special about the fact that a rhythm game about hatsune miku has garnered such a special community when it comes to the characters and how they go about their lives as they try to grow as people and improve and have such complex relationships and motivations. ive met so many people, especially on tumblr, who have a connection to one of the pjsk characters and its so amazing to see especially since they love that character so much. im kind of rambling but i just think PJSK gave so many people an outlet and a chance to see themselves in a variety of situations and characters, or just an escapism to see characters that you love and care for succeed even after obstacles. im lucky i get to be a part of such an incredible community, and im lucky i was introduced to my favorite character since she’s become such an important part of my life and inspiration for me to grow and improve too.

My Grand Foray Into The Terror Of Musical Analysis
(I'm pretty sure I'm fairly pitch perfect so don't worry too much)
(Deltarune Chapter 5 Spoilers)
(fyi, song names are written in bold text for this post)
Back in Chapter 4, Susie and Kris's not-date at the Diner is accompanied by the new song Friends, which notably contained part of Girl Next Door despite how Noelle isn't there, and they didn't even talk about her. That was kinda weird, right? I certainly thought so at the time.
Now, Chapter 5 has given us three songs with most of the same structure, both containing that Girl Next Door excerpt and starting on the same tune as Friends:
Festival, which plays as Kris, Susie and Noelle all explore the festival together.
I guess I'm in love, which plays at the Suselle lake scene.
Walking Home, which plays at the end of the chapter as Kris walks Susie "home".
Once again, Noelle is not present for Walking Home (and the song stops before she comes up in conversation), but Kris isn't properly present for I guess I'm in love (they're not even on screen for most of that scene). The only throughline here is Susie.
So here's what I think is happening: Friends is just Susie's theme. Or rather, her new theme, and the first section is her new leitmotif.
Susie and Vs. Susie from Chapter 1 share their own Susie leitmotif, but this motif hasn't resurfaced ever since, despite many... MANY opportunities for it to do so.
However, an early scrapped version of Lost Girl does have the Chapter 1 Susie leitmotif... kiiind of. It starts out as Chapter 1 Susie for the first two bars, shifted a little to sound less evil, but then it stops doing that, and actually starts to sound a bit more like Friends.
Susie and Friends do share an ascending structure, but they weren't quite close enough for me to comfortably call the same motif. But the Susie-Friends excerpt in Beta Lost Girl is a weird hybrid that bridges that gap between them.
So yeah, Friends is almost definitely Susie's true theme, mutated from her vicious Chapter 1 themes to represent her growing ability to express her authentic self: A crude girl full of love that just likes having friends.
(That said, I could definitely see Susie's old theme having a resurgence later on, especially if I'm right about her having a final hour heel turn, but that's another conversation don't worry about that right now)
As for the Girl Next Door excerpt, while it could be as simple as Susie's theme containing one of the motifs from the girl she likes, the absence of Susie's motif in Noelle's themes (something Toby was clearly planning to do at some point, considering Beta Lost Girl) makes me think it's a bit more complicated. If that was how this worked, Noelle's themes would be mostly Susie's motif by volume, her crush is waaaaaay bigger
What's especially noteworthy about all this is that the Girl Next Door excerpt that Friends, et al. contains is specifically the part that a lot of people (myself included) believe contains one of the highest quality candidates for Gaster's Theme outside of ANOTHER HIM, the only comparable sighting being the illustrious Freedom motif.
Noelle's potential connections to Gaster are fairly well tread at this point, but do you know what Kris, Susie and Noelle have in common that ties all three of them to Gaster?
These three people - and nobody else - are divinely marked in the Goner Maker sequence as Gaster's favourite blorbos. They're his special little guys, and he is likely as emotionally invested in them as I am.
Which brings me to my conclusion: The Gastery section of Girl Next Door isn't just one of Noelle's motifs, it's a special motif that connects Noelle and Susie to both Gaster and eachother. And when Kris eventually gets their own explicit theme (whether it's something completely new or based on Faint Courage or seven_four), I would bet actual money that they'll also get this motif. Gaster calls them wonderful too, after all.
Based on this, I'd like to christen the Gaster motif variant in Girl Next Door and Friends as:
The Wonderful Motif
to encapsulate what I believe is it's full meaning: Three people connected not simply by fate, but by the transcendent force that favours them.
so, TL;DR: krusielle is canon because gaster said so, don't @ me (<- this is a joke)
I think one of the interesting things about the chapter 5 WR ending is how because the NR lake scene is a follow up to the ferris wheel ride in chapter 2, there are pretty relevant connections to that as well.
During the ferris wheel ride Noelle thinks everything around her is a dream, she feels like no matter what happens she'll be safe - she can do anything, she doesn't have to worry about any of the things that bother her in the light world. She could do something crazy. She could even grow wings and fly off into the unknown if she wanted to. It's an innocent fantasy of hers that, as far as she is concerned, is something that's always been and always will be in her head, with no real impact on the "real world".
In chapter 5, however, they are in the light world. Noelle knows it's reality. She knows the things happening to her are real, even if she doesn't understand the scope of the situation fully. I know the scene as a whole is pretty clear about how in the weird route Noelle sees it as an opportunity to take control of her life in a twisted way, but I think the mention of wings is an interesting detail, especially since there is no ferris wheel scene in the chapter 2 weird route - as far as we are concerned this is the first time Noelle admits to wanting more out of her life, to travelling somewhere beyond hometown. Idk it just made me even more sad about the scene. :(
