Things to lift for a beautiful skin
Oil-based make-up remover. Or just plain cooking oil, it works. Just not a dry-oil. First step at night to remove make-up.
A delicate hydrating soap. One with donkey-milk in it for example. or Alep soap. Or a face-wash that is not for “problematic, oily skin”, even if you have problematic, oily skin. Those are too drying. Even greasy skin needs hydratation.
A soft manual brush with very fine bristles to use with the soap/face wash, if you have problematic skin. Clarisonic is too aggressive.
Flower lotion. Rose-water. Something like that. To tone after washing. No alcohol is better.
A organic hydrating cream, something without mineral oil or silicone (ex: dimethicone) in it.
Honey. To wear as an hydrating mask.
A sunscreen to wear when it’s sunny.
Things to leave on the shelf for a beautiful skin
Pore strips. Too aggressive and risk leaving some of the dead skin in the pore. If you have black heads do a steam bath to open the pores (hot water in a bowl, your face on top of it with a towel over it), then manual extraction.
Micellar water. Used backstage at shows, yes, but only because everybody is on a very tight schedule. But doesn’t remove the make-up as well as an oil, doesn’t wash as well as a soap. Can dry skin. Not that good a product.
Exfoliator/face wash/scrubs/body wash with tiny pieces of plastic in them. Or pieces of anything, really. If it’s, like, pieces of coconut shells you can use it on your body, but it’s not the best. Pieces of plastic are really, really toxic for the envirronment, they end up in rivers and oceans. And it’s too harsh and aggressive. The face brush is a better, softer exfoliator.
Hydrators with silicones. Trully, I am meh on that because it doesn’t clog everybody’s pores, but it sure clogs mines and give me blackheads.
Foundation. It’s just bad for the skin in the long run. If your remove it thoroughly with the routine i suggested it’s not that bad, but still, the goal is to take good enough care of the skin to not need it. Just a bit of concealer can be enough. It’s doable, even if you start with a bad skin i promise.
(Mineral foundations can be good, in moderation, if you need coverage or to minimize shine, but good ones are hard to come by.)
Sodas. Limonades, fruit juices and ice teas in cans are sodas too. energy drinks as well. Lots of sugar in those, no vitamins. Of course you can indulge from time to time at parties or while craming before exams XD. But mostly drink water.
