Every line is a memory.
The Irish Hunger Memorial at Vesey St. & North End Ave in Battery Park City.
Designed by sculptor Brian Tolle, the park commemorates the events of the Great Famine or Irish Potato Famine (1845-1852), hosting a 19th century cottage, flora native to the Emerald Isle and stones imported from and engraved with the signatures of its 32 counties.
Pictured is the exterior of the memorial (at dusk), which I shot well ago in March ‘20. Camera: Canon Rebel t3i/Lens: EF-S 18-55mm.

a man can undergo numerous trials yet emerge none the wiser; wisdom invites man to defer to his lessons than tailor them to his narrative.

Owning a lively imagination is invaluable.
So is clip art.
Self-portrait, ‘23.
“…not as the world giveth… “

Celebrated forty-four years today with some homemade chocolate chip cupcakes and cream cheese frosting.
The end result? Well, the chips were swallowed whole, forming a very “dirty” bottom… crust (chuckles) and the centers failed to rise. You see, not only did I neglect to use baking powder but, I also, uh, got (giggles) a bit TOO happy with the hand mixer, thus disturbing the density of the batter.
Thankfully, there was nothing flat about the flavor.
It’s Gemini season: seeing double comes naturally.
A male Hooded Merganser out sailing for… well, it’s anyone’s guess.

The First Street Garden at 48 E. 1st Street in the East Village.
I shot this earlier in February, so its current condition is a mystery to me. Looked like a work in progress but isn’t everything.
Posed.
