Yesterday was a day for the books! Being in quarantine is not really the way you’d like to spend your 40th birthday (sitting on a tropical beach with a mai tai is what I’d prefer), but it is what it is and you make the most of it. And my Honey went above and beyond to make it special. In true Travis form, he had flowers sent to me at work (in the 4 hour window I was actually in the office), and he gave me a beautiful light up rose (reminds me of beauty and the beast!). He and my mom coordinated a parade, which was totally a shock and so much fun to see family and friends come help celebrate quarantine style! Easter looked a lot different than normal this year. Church wasn’t with the community celebrating that He has risen, it was live online! It wasn’t a massssssive bowl of egg salad shared with 15 people for lunch, it was enough for 2 (ok, with leftovers!). The egg hunt was for eggs a la natural (one still warm from being freshly laid). And instead of everyone being together as a family, we were in spirit and by FaceTime! Every year I can expect flowers on 3 days: valentines, my birthday (and the more embarrassing the better 🤪), and our anniversary . And every year I look forward them more and more! He works with the florists to make sure the arrangements are beautiful and to his standard, and he keeps out doing himself! Earlier this week I froze my arse off Chicago. This California girl was not expect or have planned for 1. Snow, and 2. Being outside in temps as low as 11F. I brought a jacket (note, not a parka) and luckily grabbed a beanie as I left the house Monday morning. Needless to say, I’ve thankful to back to 70 degrees and no wind chill. 2 hours, that’s literally the amount of time I had at The Silos before having to leave for the airport. It was cold, but soooooo cool to be there!
