Squid knew something was wrong the moment they stepped onto the Derringer estate. It was too quiet, Atlas' ship was gone, and they didn't see Tallulah fluttering about the way she did. Trying to make everything perfect for an imperfect husband.
When Lucas grabs Squid by their hair and drags them down the hall, Squid doesn't give him the satisfaction of hearing their screams. Instead, Squid hurls obscenities at him and wishes Farrah was there to hear them. Farrah would be proud. Grunting as their side collides with a stone wall, they hear a sharp intake of breath from the corner of the room they've been tossed into. "Lulu?"
Her beautiful long hair is a mess, chunks obviously missing. Anger rises in Squid's chest as their eyes focus on Lulu's frightened ones. "What makes you think you're getting away with this?" they ask sharply, poison dripping from their teeth as they look at Lucas.
Lucas laughs at them, leaning in the doorway in the carefree manner that he usually carried himself. Like no one could touch him, it pissed Squid off before but even more so now when Lulu laid there shivering and abused. "Atlas has been gone for days, no calls. Do you think he really cares about her, Squid? C'mon."
Pure hot anger. And all they did was smile.
"Atlas? No, I'm not too concerned about Atlas either," they chuckle, sliding into a seated position with one hand gently wrapping around Lulu's. "I meant my sister." There goes that smirk melting off his chapped lips. Seriously, fucker needed some Carmex. "What makes you think Farrah isn't already on her way?"
