       “You’re afraid of it all blowing up, aren’t you?” As someone who was incredibly sensitive when it came to news about her own family, let alone if it were about her estranged father, she could only imagine how Lale would react to the news. It was a difficult situation all ‘round, and she knew Lale would need extra love and support when she did eventually discover the news. “Look, if all goes to shit, I’ll even help you escape Paris,” she joked, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “But in all honesty, let me know what I can do to help. Whether it’s acting oblivious, taking Lale’s mind off of things.. anything. Just tell me. —She doesn’t know you’re here for the long haul? Well, merde. Sounds like we have our work cut out for us! How do you think she’ll feel about that? Your staying here, I mean?” Meliha immediately shakes her head, eyes widening — she’d rather do anything but veer into what she truly needed a distraction from. “Oh, nothing. Just—it’s been a difficult run with the restaurant, you know? But we’ll get there.”

“Not afraid.” The Senol heiress was already accustomed to confrontation. If anything she is the queen of beating others to the punch and getting straight to the point. It was one of the many reasons why she was able to do her job today. If she was soft and too level-headed for her own good, she’d get eaten alive in this industry. “I’m just dreading the fucking aftermath. It’s such...a pain to deal with. The unpredictability of it is annoying. I prefer knowing what I’m getting myself into, but it’s moments like this where that’s not always the case.”

Sanchit chuckled. “See, that’s the spirit! Rainbows will never cease to amaze me either, I love them.” And they were also proud that a rainbow was particularly on brand for them now, even if they were still slightly afraid to wear any iconography in public, the rainbow itself, that was something you could just look at and feel good around. 

They nodded. “I get it though, if you’re so used to it, it turns boring… or well, depending on what it is, of course. I think I just have a knack for overthinking things from a historic perspective, like… uhm, every time I visit Rotterdam, I get sad, because the center of the city is all new buildings, or relatively new at least, because it was bombed by the Germans during World War II, so you just know you’ll never be able to unearth that part of history.” They stopped, offering an apologetic smile for their rambling. “I think the Notre Dame is something people know of, but I think it will always take the breath away of people seeing it for the first time.”

At the continued offer of kindness, Sanchit looked even more apologetic, a ride was one thing, but money for an uber, or even for the metro. “Oh ha, no, that’s… that’s okay. I have an abonnement,” they said, “and I don’t take Ubers, since… well, the metro is way faster.” Was that still a no then? Too Dutch, raised way way too Dutch. Why inconvenience someone when you had the perfect opportunity to get home just as fast, maybe even faster, by public transport? “Sanchit,” they said. “Lida? Like: L I D A?” They asked, catching names was a whole different thing with a hearing aid - about as hard as learning a new language.

Lida chuckled as well and nodded in agreement, “My daughter always tries to drag me outside after a storm to see if she could spot one. Yet they’re always a hit or miss.” It was adorable really, but sometimes depending on where they were staying it was hard to view them, especially when they lived in the most busiest cities. Therefore, she had to always come up with a compromise as it did put Miray in a foul mood. Hence why she would show her videos instead of places around the world displaying such a beautiful view and giving her hope that it’s all over even if they were far from it. 

She understood their perspective and they had made such good points that Lida nodded in agreement with them. “I don’t think it’s overthinking.” she advised at first with a gentle smile. “I feel as if you have an appreciation or a grasp of the truth that these places hold. You’re right, these are places of history that some people may not know and simply would appreciate the appearance of it. It’s true, I feel like first timers would be amazed at seeing it in the flesh.” 

The apologetic look on their face caused Lida to gesture a nonchalant wave as if it wasn’t a big deal, “Ah, alright then. No worries, I have poor judgement when it comes to transportation seeing as I get driven around a lot.” She then nodded to confirm the spelling of her name, “Correct and nice to meet you Sanchit, thank you again for the assistance.”

“Two years. A lot of time studying and working in hospitals in Madrid before I jumped ship to Paris,” he shared, a smile on his face as he recalled the memories. The last decade had been hard and plagued with self-doubt but standing where he was now, he felt proud. 

“Maybe I’m not for sale,” Tiago countered with a playful grin. A fact that was true, even though he had sold his skills to Micayla for at Le Rouge. That was done out of friendship more so than money, the paper exchanged simply to keep the transaction professional. “I might make an allowance for you, though – if you continue to keep me company on lonely nights like this.” The words came out more flirtatious than intended, he was simply happy for the company as the life he led could be lonely at times. 

Tiago ignored the suggestiveness of his words and opted to sit back, listening to her words intently. The last thing he needed to do was become distracted and not hear her when she was opening up about something as meaningful as pregnancy. “Si,” he mumbled. The doctor having seen many a brutal delivery in his time. Thankfully, her daughter had been born and he couldn’t help the gesture of blessing himself at the news, something he had adopted from his mother. He wasn’t overly religious but she had always instilled a strong faith in him, something he held onto for her sake. 

The next revelation came as a surprise and his expression softened instantly, reaching over to give her hand a gentle squeeze. “I know that feeling,” he offered. “I think we have all been there in our lives but I’m happy you came through that for you daughter, she must mean the world to you.” There was a sadness in his eyes, a feeling he never felt much as he had everything he could want in life. That didn’t stop him from longing for his own family, a feeling that had become more prominent with each passing year. To do that he needed to find a wife and the way he was going that would be another decade’s long struggle. “What’s her name?”

Whenever she did meet people from different walks of life, she always found it intriguing to learn about their background. Those within her own social circles had the same old stories, whether they were privileged from the start, inherited old money, or succeeded in the hustle and grind culture. Therefore, after learning about Tiago’s journey on how he became a doctor in Paris, Lida scrunched her face slightly and said, “Damn…I don’t know how you med students can do all that studying. I did my Masters and even then that was fucking brutal.” Given the change of scenery, she then asked, “Madrid to Paris, both beautiful cities…Do you have a preference of which area you prefer?” 

Accepting the challenge, Lida flashed him a cheeky smile and replied with, “Maybe, but then that doesn’t mean that I should be an EXCEPTION.” A chuckle soon followed after as she finished up her slice and dabbed her mouth clean with a napkin. “Fair enough, I’m not opposed to it. Besides, I’d like to think I’m FANTASTIC company.” She should be humbling herself right now, but she believed there was truth to her words. If one was in her good graces, then she’ll definitely give them a fun time. 

Lida appreciated the kind gesture and Tiago’s understanding, but she didn’t mean to be a mood kill and make things sad. As such, she used her free hand to wave it off as if it wasn’t a big deal. “Oh a hundred percent. She saved my life in a sense—where I could have been a completely different woman than I am today.” As much as she carries the weight of her family’s legacy, she would have completely lost herself in her own rage and vexation. When Tiago asked about her daughter’s name, the Senol heiress’ features lit up as she immediately pulled out her phone and showed him her wallpaper. “Miray is her name and she’s four years old.”

If there was one thing that Aylin always had difficulty to deal with, was the fact that she would say yes to one of the night managers whenever they ask if she could fill in. It was definitely not omething she was made for. She was one to sleep at night and not work at night. She felt the tiredness in her bones but she knew that if she didn’t pay a visit to the market now, then she would have a problem regarding her groceries in two days. The time that the snowstorm was supposed to hit. Aylin wasn’t planning on going outside unless necessary during that weather.

So with a mood that could’ve been better, she had moved into line for the juice stand. She was addicted to their strawberry kiwi banana smoothies and Aylin knew that there was probably too much added sugar for it to be healthy, but she kept coming back. The idea of the smoothies alone would’ve been enough to lighten her mood if not for the woman in front of the line who kept complaining.

Aylin was a little surprised at the woman in front of her who suddenly turned around and started talking to her in a tone that said ‘I know you’. Well, Aylin was pretty sure she had never seen the other woman before but she was happy enough to agree with the pretense so the complaining woman would not target them. “I only come here for their juices to be honest so I can definitely recommend them to you. I’m addicted to their smoothies, they are really good.”

Her gaze quickly moved to the woman before Lida. “Why do you think people think it’s a good idea to make such a big thing of something small?”

The more the other woman talked, the more of Lida’s patience began to dwindle. Something about hearing complaints this early in the morning not only ticked her off, but made her want to shove something down that woman’s throat to shut her up. Holding in her breath, she decided that it wasn’t best to maintain such violent thoughts and opted to focus on her conversation at hand.

At least there was a silver lining to this as her companion had in fact tried the juices of the establishment they were lining up for. “Oh perfect, do you think you could offer me some recommendations then? I’m feeling indecisive right now.” Taking a good look at her, there was something familiar about the young woman, but the Senol heiress had difficulty trying to pin it down...

God her mind was all mush at this very moment.

Biting her tongue, the look of annoyance was evident on her features before she eventually huffed a sigh. “Because everyone’s full of themselves at some point in their life and with that comes entitlement and pride. Clearly, this woman chose today out of all days to be such a nuisance. At this point, I’m going to end up buying her fucking drink just to get this queue moving.” 

Not that he needs her approval, but it still feels good to do something nice. He’s sure that the baristas appreciate it, he doesn’t know how much they get paid. Either way, it’s not enough if they have to deal with difficult customers on a regular basis. With a shrug, he just thinks to himself ‘Glad it’s not my job.’ Thinking back on her question, he considers it for a moment. “I am usually a morning person, but that’s because I’m used to getting up early. If I had it my way I would sleep in, but my job wouldn’t allow for it.” It’s an honest answer, even if it might sound a little negative.

Meeting someone who’s a morning person was always a hit or miss with Lida. Miss in a sense where they’re too bubbly and loud for their own good. Luckily, her encounter with the individual in front of her didn’t seem to be that way...as of yet. However, she was basking in it and hoped that he wouldn’t change up. “It’s all about getting into the habit. I HAVE to be a morning person and after years of becoming one, I still hate it.” Tilting her head, she then asked, “Is that so? What kind of job do you have if you don’t mind me asking?”  

Margo cocked her brow and looked down at the little dog, a skeptic air to her gaze. She wasn’t he was aware of when to stop, but she had enough decorum not to say it out loud. “It’s fine.” She said, finally, waving the woman off with a quick swish of her wrist. It wasn’t as if Margo would hold anything against a dog, definitely not when she was dressed in sweats and simple gym shoes. No harm no foul. “Honestly, don’t worry about it. He should just count himself lucky that he’s cute.” She said, pushing a well-practiced polite smile to her face.

“I tell him that everyday.” replied Lida with a laugh. Glancing down at Duke, she sighed and pulled out a liver treat from her pocket, holding it out to her left side so he could remain right next to her. “I’m assuming you’ve had pets of your own? Normally I get a different reaction if that’s not the case.” 

Seeing someone talk about their family and how proud they were made Ronav feel happy and sad at the same time. Did his parents ever get that glint of proudness in their eyes when someone asked about their kids? He stole a glance up toward the sky, swallowing the lump that was attempting to form in his throat. “Well, you seem like a great mother,” he gave a small nod. Her last statement caused his brows to furrow, understanding what she meant but… “I…I just meant that…,” eyes began to dart around, struggling to find grounding. “I didn’t mean to come across insensitive or anything, and if I did I apologize. It’s just…my parents are a pile of ash sitting in my room and it’s not something I’ve really gotten over yet.”

'...you seem like a great mother.’

To hear it from a stranger seemed too unreal. In fact, Lida had a hard time believing it, especially when she had undergone postpartum depression during the beginning of Miray’s birth. After overcoming that she still struggled with being a mother due to the upbringing she had with her own. Lida had no one to learn off of and as much as everyone gave her advice that they were either winging parenting or no parent is downright perfect, the Senol heiress found it hard to believe and feared that at any given moment, Miray would be taken away from her for whatever fuck up that may entail on her end. 

“...Merci, I’m trying.” Lida finally replied after a brief pause and she left it at that. Seeing the other struggle to find their words, she took a moment to let them think it through and listened attentively to their response. “My condolences.” she said at first. “And no, I didn’t find any offence to it, trust me I’ve seen and heard worse. Grief is a constant despite what anyone says. I think it’s okay if you haven’t gotten over it yet and I feel as if acknowledging it is actually a step forward in that healing direction.” 

STARTER: @lidasenol​ LOCATION: Streets of Palais-Bourbon 

The two friends had found themselves caught up in the height of the storm and were attempting to make their way home after meeting for coffee at Café du Temple. It was miles from where they both lived in élysée but they hadn’t expected a blizzard to commence. “Soy estúpido (I’m stupid),” Tiago mumbled, pulling his coat tighter around him, trying to feel any sort of heat. Cold winters were something he had never been good with, used to the warmth of his country. Each snowflake that fell on his nose a reminder of the beauty of Spain. 

The man glanced over at the woman by his side and he wondered how she was. She had a daughter to worry about and here he was feeling sorry for himself. “Are you okay?” He asked, brown eyes moving over her, trying to read her. Tiago couldn’t imagine how he would be feeling right now if he had a child. The fact Lida couldn’t even call to check in on her making this even scarier. 

They were walking at a brisk pace but the footing could be tricky with the snow and ice forming. Tiago was fixed on her, worrying, that he forgot to pay attention to where he was walk. A large step met the icey pavement with force and instead of feeling the ground beneath him, he felt his leg give way and in a flash he was slipping and went down to the ground with a thud and a cry of pain. “Joder!” The pain shot through his body and he sat up with a wince and cried out again, “Ay Dios mío…”

“Je déteste l’hiver.”

Even though Lida was bundled up in her Mackage winter jacket and wearing her Moncler winter boots to trek in these horrible conditions, she still couldn’t prevent herself from cursing at the winter season and its impeccable timing. She thought herself and Tiago would have enough time to have some coffee at Café du Temple before heading home to beat the storm. Instead, the two were greeted with it after leaving the establishment and had the worst luck given that they both lived in Élysée. Driving in these conditions seemed impossible.

She’d been staring at her phone trying to send messages and even calls to both her chauffeur and nanny to see if they could get them out of this mess, as well as wanting to know if Miray was okay. Her daughter was used to her short absences, but when it came to these weather conditions, she’s well aware that her four year old was probably worried for her when it was the other way around. Lida wanted to reassure her that she was okay and vice versa, but the city’s poor signal wasn’t doing her any justice. “Merde.” she hissed before stuffing her phone back into her jacket pocket and slipping back on her gloves for warmth. Because of how cold it was, these phones had a tendency to lag as well. Therefore, it was no use to having to bank on it as a form of communication at this moment. 

“Okay is an understatement Torres. I’m fucking an—” It happened so fast, one moment he was up, the next he was down and her blue hues widened at the scene before her, causing her heart to drop. This was the LAST thing she wanted to happen. “Tiago!” she called out in a worrisome tone. Slowing walking to his side, she carefully kneeled down and helped him sit up. “That sounds...fucking painful...Please tell me you were just doing it for dramatics and that you’re not ACTUALLY in pain.” Lida was delusional at this point as she could clearly see that Tiago was suffering from his fall. “...I have an MBA Tiago, that is far from a fucking medical degree. If anything, I should be the one on the ground crying out in pain!” 

❝ It’s okay, it’s okay. You don’t have to explain. ❞ Lale was just happy her sister was here, like always. It usually started out like this though, didn’t it? ❝ I was thinking about the same thing, I’m ready to order if you are1 The waiter should be around shortly. ❞ She cranes her neck quickly to see if she could spot the waiter. Lale was starving ❝ I haven’t been here before, no. I figured it might be a fun thing for us to try together. ❞ She smiles proudly. It’s cheesy when she says it like that, but she can’t help it. She’s always wanted a big sister. Her big sister. On her travels, she’s met people, a lot of people, befriended them, hated others, many, many people she doesn’t remember the name of but she’ll know them if she’s looking that their nudes … But none of them had become this found family trope she had hoped for. Sure, they’d exchange numbers, Twitter and Instagram handles, but Lale can’t stand to be lonely - she needs the physicality. Lale doesn’t want Lida to be just another Instgram handle. ──── Oh, fuck. Does Lida even have Instgram?

By now, her attention has turned to the waiter who was FINALLY coming back to fill Lale’s empty mimosa glass. She hadn’t even realize she nervously downed it all. She also slips in her order, Racine de lotus and Salade De Concombre Oi Muchim. ❝ Yeah. Yeah, you know, ─ because you’re ─  ❞ By the time her sight has landed on Lida, Lida is already looking at her with such a stare that she loses her words. Before she could explain, her sister was already offended. What she was going to say was the place, like her sister, is unique and unapologetic. But the words are lost defeat. ❝ … Oh, ❞ Is all she can say, disappointed that restaurant like this doesn’t seem to be like it would be the choice to impress Lida. But that isn’t the case at all. Lale is disappointed in herself for assuming she would have the taste buds of something high maintenance or of the finer realm. ❝ Okay. Well, I’ll remember that for next time … ❞ It all she says, lapsing into a silence as she sits anf waits for their food.

As the pregnant pause continues, the more Lale begins to fiddle around with her fork. ❝ … I want to see mom. ❞ The brunette ends up blurting out, unable to keep the real reason she called for Lida to meet her. She wants to see Damla. Wants. It sounded so child-like, eager. ❝ I will - I will see mom. ❞ She wets her lips, changing her words hasty to sound more firm, less vulnerable. She’s too scared to show anything else to Lida, Before Lida can ask, she says while drawing her sight down toward her plate, though her tone is still rather snippy. ❝ I don’t know why. It just feels like something I have to do … Closure, maybe … ❞ It would make the most sense. It was a buck up and get your answers now before the source is gone, kind of thing. Lale wants to know so many whys. Why did Damla give so much of her own destruction to her child? Why didn’t she passed on more of her? Why did she never stroke her hand or play hide-and-seek? Why did they have to teach Lida to not like her?  

Setting the mimosa glass down, empty once more before lunch had even made it to the table, the brunette talks on casually, almost as a joke, ❝ Besides, my therapist believes I’m in a good headspace to start asking questions. ❞ Sometimes, Lale really believes that therapists are just out here to be nosy and listen to other people’s family gossip, but hey, at least it felt like someone was listening.

Blue hues looked through the menu and began to weigh out her options. She was starving given that she only had a cappuccino and a croissant earlier this morning. It simply wasn’t enough if she wanted to function through the day. Her younger sister’s response made her realize that she was TRYING again and that perhaps her own response may have disheartened her. Therefore, when their server came around, she ordered the ‘Bubu’ which was the beef bibimbap, with a side of edamame and cheese toppoki with octopus that they could share and an iced tea for a drink. Getting that out of the way she met Lale’s gaze and felt an ache in her heart after seeing how disappointed she was at her response. 

“I’m sorry.” Lida folded first while tucking a hair behind her ear. “I didn’t mean to assume that it had a negative connotation if that wasn’t your intention.” Tapping her nails on the table, she decided to come to a compromise and propose an idea that can get them through this brunch. “If I’m out of line, please let me know. The last thing I want is for us to storm out of here on a bad note...AGAIN. I also want to have a decent meal today and not resort to takeout. Does that work for you?” 

If she was going to be in Paris long term, then it was a no brainer that she should be amending her relationship with her sister. Setting aside her pride did take a toll on her, but she also thought of Miray and how she’d been wanting to spend time with her teyze. Further to that, it was going to be a constant battle having to tolerate their parents’ presence and so, having Lale in her corner would be comforting in that sense as she had an understanding of what she had to deal with. 

Lida’s blue hues bore into Lale’s as she simply stared with a blank expression when the youngest Senol admitted to wanting to see their mother. “I know at some point you’ll need to talk to her…” It was evident that a ‘but…’ was going to soon come after and so, the Senol heiress took a moment to gather her words APPROPRIATELY and convey them in a way to not cause any offence to Lale. “And I’m glad to hear you have the support of your therapist…However, are YOU sure? Or are you doing this because you feel COMPELLED to do it due to the guilt and circumstances? As unfortunate as this sounds, she won’t greet you with hugs and kisses, let alone feel grateful that you’ve returned in her life. She’ll actually RIP me APART before ripping you a new one. She actually hates bringing up her disease since she sees it as a sign of weakness.” 

Self-awareness was key. Most people would not have admitted to being pretentious, but Ronav grew a great deal of respect for Lida in that moment. “Seems like a good investment though,” he told her. “I’ve heard that animals can be good for emotional issues.” He’d gone back and forth with adopting an animal, but the amount of stress that had been going on in his mind for the last eight years…it wouldn’t be fair. It wouldn’t be fair at all. “A child?” it came out with a tone of surprise, and he could feel his eyes widen unconsciously. “Sorry,” he laughed, “I just wasn’t expecting that. That’s great. Family is…family’s important. Hold onto it tight.”

Lida nodded, “Worth every penny.” she confirmed. It was bold of her to get both Duke and Nyx a year after Miray was born, but they were both adopted when a family friend could no longer support them. Instead of giving them up to a shelter, Lida took them in a heartbeat and it was one of her most proudest decisions in life. Despite the hardships that came with being both a cat and dog mom, both her pets were definitely emotional support animals whenever things were getting tough in her life and she didn’t want to deal with other humans per se. “They are good for that sort of thing. You’ll even have days where you just don’t want to get involved with people and they make up for that void.” After hearing their surprised tone when she mentioned her child, Lida chuckled and nodded once more. “It’s alright, I tend to get that response. Hell, I’m even surprised too that I ended up with a child.” she joked at first. “I suppose, but I will say that does depend on what kind of family you have you know?”

Sanchit chuckled. “I’m from the Netherlands, I’m used to shitty weather on the weekends,” they said. When they were younger it was rarely good weather on Saturdays and Sundays, usually the sun snuck out in the middle of the week, as if to happily dish them. “It’s like they say… after rain comes sunshine, right? I may have a very nice sunny evening.” They shook their head. “Never, I try to imagine the builder who envisioned building this, and the many generations it took to place every single stone. It’s an amazing piece of architecture, but most of all, it’s immense. Not in the same way as the Eiffel Tower, but… yeah, this place gives me chills every time.” And when they could turn off their hearing aid and really stand in its immensity, they would always pick up on new features. Things they hadn’t seen before. They sucked up their awkwardness about saying yes to such an offer, they were the type to find it awkward when someone held a door open when you were like… ten steps away. The moment between running to catch it and running away because you were aware of how much someone else was doing for you, giving up valuable time when they didn’t have to. They stared at her. “Is this one of those instances where I should say ‘yes’?”

When Lida heard their response of where they came from, it all started to make sense why they would find small joys in such weather conditions. When you’re used to it, it no longer fazes you which seemed to be the case here. “Ah, that makes sense.” replied the Senol heiress with a tone of realization. “That may happen, yes...Might even have chance of a rainbow peeking through.” Although she had a realist type of mindset, she bit her tongue from bringing up the topic of global warming. Now wasn’t the time to bring the mood down. 

After hearing their take on Notre Dame, a genuine smile crept onto Lida’s lips as she wasn’t expecting such an honest response. It definitely put things into perspective and the beauty of how such architecture was built. “When you put it that way, then I see the appeal. I’ll admit I kind of lost that spark when it came to this establishment. However, I tend to forget that this is a piece of French history right here and not many have the opportunity to see it up close and personal.” 

A lighthearted laugh escaped her lips as she shook her head. “Don’t want to pressure you into it. If you’d like I can order you an Uber instead?” She then extended her hand after realizing that they didn’t quite get each other’s names, “I’m Lida by the way. Forgive me for not starting out with such formalities. If you’re not comfortable with either or, then I can give you a couple of euros for transit fare?” 

“Si vous insistez./ If you insist.” He really had to stop beating himself up over the small stuff, it was a bad habit he had gotten into over the course of many years. He supposes that being in such a harsh industry probably hasn’t helped, maybe the near constant ridicule is what’s caused him to be like this. Either way, it’s a bit late to change it now.

“Well, at the very least I can put these euros towards giving the baristas a tip.” He gestures towards the tip jar, pushing a few folded euros into it. If she won’t accept his offer than he can do something to make up for his deed, even if it’s not directly towards the woman. He feels like it’s something about karma, doing something good to cancel out the bad. “I think I must not have slept well, I’m not usually like this. I’m starting to think maybe I should just go back home if I’m in this state. It’s much too early.” He chuckles to himself and takes another sip of his latte, already feeling the caffeine begin to push his sleepiness away.

Lida nodded once more to confirm that her decision was final. Wrapping both hands around her coffee up, she relaxed and embraced the warmth of her drink while following the other man’s movements as she listened in on his response. The idea of putting the cost of the americano towards the baristas’ tips was a good move on his end and she couldn’t agree more. “Good move.” she replied with a nod of approval. In that sense he was still paying it forward. “So you’re saying that you’re usually a morning person?” Taking a sip, she looked down at her Apple watch and caught sight of the time. Indeed it was still early. “I don’t see how that’s a bad idea, unless you have plans ahead of you?”

            “Tell me about it.. but, from experience, I’d rather know if it were me. It’s up to her what she does with the information.. don’t be afraid. Lale’s got the best sister in the world.. and an amazing cousin,” she twirls her hair and rolls her eyes, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips as she moves to take another sip of whatever concoction they were up to now. “Maybe not.. but she’ll trust you, won’t she? —Out of curiousity, how do you think she’ll react? Act like it doesn’t phase her and then probably let it eat her up inside?” From day one, Meliha had always valued respect and honesty above all else, even if it meant to the detriment of whatever it impacted. Her father had spun enough lies to affect her for a lifetime and a half. “Like the good cousin I am, I’m even happy to help you. Why don’t you practise on me? We can take the opportunity now to have you prepared. You know, for all kinda of possible scenarios. —Oh, thank god for that.. this shit is starting to give me wrinkles,” she smirks, a chuckle soon ensuing. “I’m kidding. You know I’m in it for the long haul, abla.. pester me all you want. Besides, it distracts me.”

As much as Lida appreciated Mila’s positive spin on this, her mind had other opinions as her gut feeling knew her conversation with her youngest sister would be a shit show. “Don’t know about best sister title, but definitely agree with you on the cousin one.” she replied with a low chuckle. “Both, but it also depends on the weight of the conversation. She either puts up a mask or bends and breaks. I guess time will only tell.” Lale thought with her heart, while Lida thought with her mind. It’s what differentiates the two from each other. 

Shaking her head, Lida made the decision to just wing it. After much thought, she realized that her nerves and anxieties would probably get the best of her. If she was too prepared it wouldn’t come off as genuine, but because she ran it by Mila, she believed it was GOOD ENOUGH to move forward with such intentions. “I think I’ll leave it at that. I don’t want to look into it too much and overanalyze it. I’ll just tell her the truth and give her a run down of my stay...I mean she doesn’t even know that I’ve officially moved here long term either.” A soft smile crept onto her lips as she was grateful for her cousin’s support, “Distract?” she repeated with a curious tone. “From what, hm?”
