#currentlyreading LIE WITH ME by Sabine Durrant. I have to say thanks to @hachetteaus for my copy because I am about 120 pages in and I am really enjoying it! I never heard or read anything by Durrant but I checked on Goodreads and , both she and her novels, have a really good reputation among crime readers. I am waiting to get at least halfway trough into the story before to share my thoughts about it, but so far I can say that I am really looking forward to bed time ( reading time) since I started LIE WITH ME. 🔸 What are you guys up to? In cima troviamo il nuovo libro di Sabine Durrant, che da noi è conosciuta per "Come un ricordo che uccide" pubblicato nel 2015 da Sperling&Kupfer. Ammetto di non aver mai letto o sentito questa autrice , per cui mi sono molto incuriosita quando la CE me lo ha proposto. La conoscete? Oggi ero felice perchè domani non lavoro e posso recuperare un pò con la lettura, poi mi sono ricordata che invece voi a casa siete al mare in ferie e mi sono ridimensionata! I am talking about BLOOD WEDDING by Pierre Lemaitre and published in Australia by @hachetteaus for @maclehosepress . BW is a compelling and disturbing novel with believable characters and a perfect plot, an undeniable tour de force of psychological suspense that justifies Lemaitre international reputation as one of Europe's best noir writers. It took me 2 days to read this book and I liked Lemaitre style so much that I am planning to read also his most famous work, the trilogy of Alex, Irene and Camille. Anybody is reading this book or know any of Lemaitre’s works ? While the world is going mad for the Cursed Child, I just finished and absolutely loved an amazing northen crime recommended by the lovely Abby @crimebythebook. MARKED FOR LIFE by Emelie Schepp is part of the campaign #chillsandthrills hosted by @harlequinaus that I also have to thank for my well-loved copy. This book has a strong female character, the cold-hearted prosecutor Jana Brezelius and a twisted and gripping story. While we follow Jana's latest case about a series of murders connected to Sweden's immigration department, we also unfold Jana's foggy past that is more related to this new case that she might expect... A complete review will follow on the blog but let me say that this is an easy 5/5 read 🙌🏼 I had the feeling that more books are about to follow because the story ends with a cliffhanger. La protagonista, Jana Brezelius, indagando al caso scoprirà che le risposte che cerca legate al suo misterioso passato, non sono poi così lontane.... I mostly read crime fiction lately but my first love is high, epic fantasy. The problem is that lately is so hard to find a good fantasy that is not YA and do not involve vampires and warewolves. If you had a look to my blog, you know that between my all time favorite and my go-to books there is THE ICE TWINS (Tremayne's bebut novel) so you can easly immagine how happy I am to have this book in my hands now. After a while reading only psychological thriller I needed a break so I decided to start Ian Rankin's latest novel EVEN DOGS IN THE WILD. This is a hard boiled crime novel, number 20 in Detective Rebus's series but that can be read also as a standalone with no problemi. La serie del detective Rebus è oramai consolidata da quando la Longanesi nel 2001 pubblicò il primo libro intitolato Cerchi e Croci e da allora è stata tradotta quasi tutta la serie che adesso è arrivata al ventesimo capitolo. My current and my next read 📚 I am loving PLAYING WITH FIRE by Tess Gerritsen, the story is very hunting and grim and despite my initial concerns about the plot, very engaging. I still miss Maura Isles, though 😔 My next read is BLOOD WEDDING by Pierre Lamaitre that will be out in July here in Australia for @hachetteaus . THE PLOT: Sophie wakes up one morning to find out that the little boy in her care is dead. She has no memory of what happened and all the proofs are against her. So she decided to hide and start a new life, with a man she has met online. Unfortunately, Sophie is not the only one hiding secrets.. This is one of my beloved "killer weddings" a story of manipulation and marriage. And it will be also my first french thriller ever, so I am pretty curious. What are your current and next read? . . Alla fine non ho potuto più aspettare e ho comprato la versione inglese de IL BATTITO DEL SANGUE , il romanzo di Tess Gerritsen, ambientato in Italia, che verrà pubblicato da noi per Longanesi il 24 Giugno. Ero un pó scettica sulla trama ma devo dire che la storia è davvero un bel mix di inquietudine e ansia e le storie dei due protagonisti, una oggi e l'altro nel passato, sono davvero ben combinate tenendo vivo l'interesse del lettore anche nei punti più ostici. Oggi poi ho anche ricevuto una belle anteprima da una CE australiana . Si tratta di un libro che da noi è giá "vecchio" e che venne pubblicato da @fazieditore nel 2012. Sto parlando de L'ABITO DA SPOSO di Pierre Lamaitre. E finalmente anche l'Australia si apre al genere noir, infatti questa è la prima volta che vedo il termine "Noir" usato per indicare il genere, mentre di solito preferiscono la categoria thriller per descrivere questo genere di libri. Il primo Giugno qua in Australia è iniziato l'inverno, e il tempo è stato davvero tremendo. Quindi, tazza di te, coperta e il mio grande preferito, LA RUOTA DEL TEMPO di Robert Jordan. In Italia la serie è edita @fanuccieditore e se qualcuno l'ha mai notata in libreria si sarà anche accorto della sua immensità. Io non ho potuto portarla con me fino a qui e quindi ho subito dovuto comprare almeno il primo volume della serie che tengo sempre sul comodino a farmi da angelo custode .
