What is Miscecanis & Misceanimalis?
you may have heard of omegaverse. At it's most basic, misceanimalis is that but in real life, not fiction. at it's most basic. real identities are much more complex than fiction, however. you can't put all of the fictional stereotypes on real people. an omega is an omega, you can't define them with words like "submissive" because that does not fit all of them, same with alphas. some omegas nest, some don't. some who aren't omegas also nest. some miscers go through heat and/or rut, some don't. someone could identify as misce for any number of reasons. it could be they just identify as it, like one would identify as a primary gender. it could be they have a mating cycle and found a way to put it into words. it could be they're a therian, otherkin, nonhuman or alterhuman. it could be neurodivergence. it could be for kink, it could be for aesthetics, it could be a queer experience of gender and sexuality, it could be all of these combined. you might be saying "that's really confusing" and thats okay. if everything made sense life would be less interesting. you might be asking "how do i know if i'm an alpha/beta/omega/etc?" call yourself it, look in the mirror and call yourself it. if it feels right, it is. if it feels wrong, it is. don't let stuff from fiction affect your reality, you can be any kind of person and still be an alpha, omega, beta or anything inbetween. (idk if i explained this right so other miscers feel free to add on in comments and reposts)

Random but you know that trope in omegaverse fanfiction where omegas have to undergo a heat every so often if they're taking suppressants or it's bad for them? Generally every three months or so?
I'm 99% sure that concept largely comes from the fact 3 month birth control pills will have 7 placebo pills at the end, and when you take them you get your period.
People often assume that there's some health reason that you have to take the 7 pills and have a period. Like you have to reset your cycle or something.
But like.
You don't.
You can just skip the 7 placebo pills and start on the next pack. Most that's likely to happen is light spotting when you start out. There's no reason your body needs to go through a menstrual cycle unless you're planning on getting pregnant.
The whole reason we still have those sugar pills in there is largely sexism from the 60s. Most birth control packs still have them primarily as a holdover from the time period, despite the fact medical science considers it largely unnecessary (although in the US you have at least one company that's finally ditched them, thank god).
So my new headcanon whenever I see that trope is just going to be that it's actually bullshit and omegas can just suspend heats for as long as they want, but society as a whole has tried to convince them otherwise with those dumb placebo pills.
