after the death of her mother and placement from her home in illinois with her, to huntington with her father ; eliza had serious trouble adjusting to the new home life and showed severe emotional shut down, struggling to connect with anyone in her new home or school.   her suppressed emotions would eventually come out in bursts of rage where she would then destroy her bedroom or actively seek out dangerous situations that could hurt her akin to self harming.   daniel eventually placed her in ericson’s after she fell ( jumped, ) out of her bedroom window and broke her arm and had a concussion, unable to deal with his daughter’s self destructive nature any longer.
