Libby sighed. “I sort of already decided against going back to school. I really didn’t fit in last time and it made me miserable.”

"I think you should…" Sam urged leaning forward to pick Sofia up, who stood by her knees. "That was there, you’re here it’s time for new beginnings. You’re in New York, you can make something of your life even if it’s what most would say is meaningless. I think you should though.."

"Sam... I have no idea what I'm doing with my life. It's a lot less expensive to be clueless outside of school than be clueless in school."Libby sighed again, running a hand through her hair. "Besides, I can't afford it and my dad cut me off when I dropped out last time. He won't pay for anything..."

"We should really look into maybe getting you into school…or something.." Sam scrunched her eyes and sighed shifting on the couch.

Yes of course! I love smoothies. As if I need an excuse to get one. But, I have to ask… If I’m a unicorn, then what are you? Because I feel like if anyone is a unicorn, it’s you. Oooh, are you one of those sparkly rainbow magic ones?

Me too! What flavor do you like? What’s your favorite? And duh, you can even wake me up for smoothies and.. Taco’s Bell, yes! Eh.. I’m not sure. Wait-what? Ohmygod, you think so?! You think I’m a sparkly rainbow magic one?!

I really like strawberry and this one pineapple banana mango thing I had once and can't remember where I got it now. It sounds kinda gross, but it was really good. Yummy! What's your favorite! Mmm, I'm always up for Taco Bell. We should make a smoothie and Taco Bell run sometime. Now I'm super hungry. Yes! If anyone is a sparkly rainbow magic unicorn it's you!

Easier said than done… He’s my dad, it’s not like I can just walk away and disappear. Or not worry about his opinion of me. If he wasn’t so hard on me I wouldn’t have had to sneak out in the first place. But he was and I did. I just can’t live feeling smothered. It got to the point that I would rather be alone and scared to death than smothered. I don’t know… Thank you for giving me the option to be here instead of there Sam. I really appreciate that.

And he is my brother and I know that he loves you no matter what decisions you make in life, Libby. He’s in the army, do you really expect any less? I always have a place for you so please don’t thank me. Your grand father always told us to do whatever it took for the people we loved, and i always stand by that…deep down i know your father does too. If you want to dwell on him for a few days, be my guest, but i think you would be happier figuring out what makes you happy.

I just... I don't know. I don't really want to talk about him anymore. I'm trying to get over him and that whole part of my life, not cry about it. I'm done feeling trapped and sorry for myself. That's what he really doesn't understand, that I'm doing this for me and not for him. He takes everything so personally.*sigh* I just want to move forward with my life Sam. Is that too much to ask?

We make the best of what we have. You would die a little…oh well, i think in a way….Misty and i have died for each other. 

That's...oddly morbid and romantic all at the same time. But I guess that makes sense. If you have that deep of a connection with another person you would die for them.

That sounds like so much fun. I would love to play in the sandbox and swing with her. *Laughs* I’m such a kid when it comes to parks and playgrounds. Yes, that is perfectly normal. I wouldn’t worry about that. My dad was extremely upset when I told him I was leaving, but he eventually got less upset. And then I left in the middle of the night and he got extremely upset again…

I know your father is tough but he was built up that way. He is a good man at heart, Libby. I think he is just hard on you because you’re his daughter. You’re still five years old in his eyes and it’s hard for him to let that go. I think the only reason why he became OK with it was because I was here and I can keep an eye on you, but i wont smother you like him. You’re your own person and i think you will come to find that out soon enough. So don’t worry about that silly bad wolf.

Well, maybe another time then. We can all go when it gets a little warmer. That way, someone doesn’t have to stay home with Sofia and we don’t have to worry about her getting sick. Maybe we could go somewhere else a bit less crowded if that makes you feel better. I understand though, my mom was like that with me all the time. Sam and Callie it is then. Being a grandma doesn’t sound so bad Sam. It just means your family is getting bigger instead of smaller. Don’t worry, I would never let anything happen to that precious little girl. Plus, you’re stronger than I am and I don’t wish to be dead just yet.

There’s a park around the corner from our new house that is lovely to walk through, maybe one day we could go, sofia can experience playing in the snow now that she is three. I’m stronger, you think I am strong. I like the sound of that. You may need to tell Callie that I am strong. It’s getting to my head. I won’t kill you, don’t worry, we are just over protective, it’s normal right? I mean your father was like that which is why i was shocked that he left you here with me.

You should be jealous as Misty is purely one of a kind, such a free kindred spirit in her own world. However, I do the cooking in the relationship and I don’t mind it, Misty tries and that’s more than enough for me. You burn noodles… oh dear.. yikes..

Annnd moving on, if only it was that easy to transition my thoughts. Cupcakes, My aunt makes a mean key-lime pie. However, my Misty made some pink cupcakes for me the other day. Her cooking can be…dangerous but apparently she is very handy as a baker. She does wonders, that woman.

Yeah, that’s why I said we should all go together. That way I can learn what’s where in the city and you can show me your favorite places. It sounds like fun. Sounds like a great beginning to my fresh start. I know you wouldn’t let anything happen to me…uh…Sam? Aunt Sam? What should I call you anyway? And Callie… Is she Aunt Callie? I don’t want to be rude. Sofia sounds adorable, but she is adorable. I can’t wait to play babysitter. I’m sure you two would like some time off as well, even though I know you love her to pieces.

It does sound like fun…though Callie knows I am a little paranoid about having sofia out and about in the cold around…so many people. I don’t want her to catch a cold…a worrying mother you could call me. Sam and Callie are just fine we do not need any “aunts” in front of our names. Especially now that I am a second time around grandma….oh that was a struggle to say…any who..Sofia is the air in my lungs, she has to be happy, and loved every second for me to breathe. Callie is working more in the city, I however just work at a clinic in the city we live in just outside. It’s nice and quaint here, but I miss the chaos of working in the city. I would love to go sometime with you, and i think it would be nice if Callie came along as well. Depending on our schedules i suppose, but we have time, the city isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Wibby, it’s too adorable. She puffs her cheeks when she says your name too, why? Who knows, tiny humans don’t make any sense, i think that’s what makes them so adorable, but if she is 20 and calling you ‘Wibby” i may be a little concerned.

Sweetie, you’re not going to be Cinderella. We aren’t going to have you doing chores, just relax, get to know the surroundings. You know the city isn’t too far from here, though it makes me nervous about you entering the city and wandering alone… but Sofia is excited, she calls you Princess Wibby…she’s having a hard time pronouncing her “L’s…”
