okay but it is interesting how mob says this while shigeo (???%) is both the manifestation of the body's powers and the one who's in love* with tsubomi. between that and the way mob treats her like a thing to be controlled, expecting her to act chummy with a selfish exploitative liar as a means to this end, and to be obedient even when the body is in mortal danger and mob isn't doing anything abt it . well you start to understand why shigeo is so callous towards mob is all i'm saying

is it a bad sign that i'm still kind of a dirtbag in my fantasies. am i doomed as a person

tbh we really need two separate terms for what we're currently calling hcs. i suppose you can also say that you read a character as xyz and i do say that but like. interpreting what it is already going on in the text but isn't stated to be a personality disorder or transgenderism or what have you, whether that's bc it wasn't strictly intended by the author or bc they just didn't pin it down and spell it out, is different than making stuff up. and i think making stuff up is awesome but there's no world in which it makes sense to present that kind of hc as #representation bc if someone else picked up that story, they wouldn't see it the way you did except by coincidence. but sometimes it's really obvious where a hc is coming from, like with people saying mob has DID, to the point where it feels equivalent to how some animanga classified as yuri don't have the main characters kiss so there's teeechnically plausible deniability but it's still Right There and it's really a matter of personal preference if you only want to see more explicit representation. i think i might just be saying words rn but you understand what i'm saying hopefully?

#i'm a good for nothing subtext enjoyer who does like implicit yuri so maybe we need to get someone more objective in here but idk as long #as you're not presenting something as a narrative explicitly abt xyz when it's not. i think we should leave more space for good faith #readings in these discussions. and maybe not everything needs to be ''canon'' to have merit just based in thoughtful interpretation...

extra funny bc i started shipping with reigen before i'd finished the manga so in some sense i dumped anime reig for her evil twin

being a fan of mp100 as a franchise and reigen as a character across that franchise is funny bc i have thoughts on all of them but i only selfship with ~1.5 iterations thereabouts. the rest i don't like like that

#my wifey from webcomics plus occasionally the anime adaptation and its drama CDs. you understand #i feel more warmly towards some actors that've played reigen than others but ultimately they all mean nothing to me i want to be left alone #with the visual symbolism and character details that the people at bones contributed

#it's a whole plot thing in the original show that she's racially/ethnically ambiguous and the way she's written in redemption makes more #sense to me if she's not white but has often whitepassed and used that to her advantage as a grifter but truly i don't know
