Sometimes I wonder if because the TARDIS got a makeover together with 10 reincarnating into 11, the phone number isn’t working/correct anymore.
Rose and Martha had the TARDIS Number.
Martha actually uses it.
But when Amy and Rory try to get a hold of the Doctor in Series 6 they use Crop Circles because they don’t have anything else to contact him.
Now I’m thinking about how the Doctor didn’t give them his phone Number and my Brain stumbles over the possibility that the new TARDIS does not have a Phone. Or maybe it has a different Number.
And then it went to Martha calling the Doctor over and over and over again - maybe because she needs help, maybe because something happens to Mickey, or maybe because she just needs and wants a Friend - and it just keeps ringing and ringing or the number isn’t even given.
How devastating that would be for Martha.
Martha never actually had the TARDIS number, she had to give Ten her own phone so she could get in touch with him (which was RTD setting up her return and forgetting the TARDIS has a phone at the exact same time). Amy and Rory did have the number and tried called it, but the Eleven had a habit of not answering it to avoid awkward conversations.
I don't think the TARDIS had a phone during RTD's run - Nine says the phone is just fake in The Empty Child. It's only after the TARDIS changes after the Eleventh Hour that the TARDIS seems to have a phone, and the number used in Day of the Doctor is the same as Martha's phone number in The Stolen Earth, so I assumed that when the TARDIS changed itself Martha's phone was incorporated.
I am sure that the TARDIS has to have had a phone because the doctor called Rose and on her phone it said that the TARDIS was calling. I know Martha left her phone with the doctor to reach him but I think she didn’t know that the TARDIS had a number. But Martha’s Phone still being in the TARDOS is also rather unlikely because of the reconstruction in my opinion. Also I’m pretty sure Amy or Rory would have found it and asked the doctor loads of Questions.
