I don’t really excuse Kaga’s age- he’s still making games to this day with Tear Ring Saga and still a lot of problems with his writing remains the same. Just because someone is older doesn’t mean they are unable to change, that’s just plain refusal to accept what is now considered “different values” (from the person in question, I mean)

In any way IMO both of them suck ass because they both sexualize children regardless of how old each of them are and I want to attack both violently- whoever is worse comes down to a point of perspective; is Kusakihara worse for his actions with the modern FE games? Or is Kaga worse for starting and inspiring said behavior right from the beginning? How much is this a generational problem or one of morals?

No, actually! There’s a lot of lost documentation in regards to fe4, and a lot of lost material that was originally part of the game that was later found in game files or on old computers Kaga would write on during the development of fe4. (An example of that: Patty had a whole ass scenario prepared for before we meet her in the game that explained why she was there and her motivations and friends and trauma, fully written and everything, but was cut due to time and cartridge space constrains- you can still find it online however) - and one of Kaga’s plans was to make Seliph be able to marry Julia- it was cut, however there’s still some elements in the game that imply that this was the intention, like how julia and seliph can still gain relationship points through a glitch and how in the game system their points are set to 490, which is a few short from the game considering two characters as lovers.

While they all have different character traits and designs, most of them have the same dynamics with almost every other character and theres just. A lack of flair there that I cannot understand. Because half of the cast are nobles, and because for some reason the game itself hides important character backstories from the player unless they go into supports (e.g citrinne and diamant being childhood friends, panette and pandreo being siblings), they all feel flat- they’re either retainers or nobles and theres no interesting dynamic outside of that. For example, you’ll never see a support like fe7’s priscilla/lucius in this game because while these two share the same roles as most characters in engage (noble and retainer), their dynamic is hostile and uncomfortable to each party because of their connection to other people and their past, which we already know of because to recruit lucius, priscilla must reveal to raven that she is his long lost sister - and because of that even though their conversations are very stinging to one another and it gets interesting fast because it brings to the table yet another character’s intentions and feelings, they manage to sort it out. Literally close to none of the Engage characters have any of that because almost none of them are allowed to have a shared history to anyone other than the lords theyre bound to serve or the retainers that protect them.

Some years ago, there was an explicit fire emblem crackfic on AO3 called “Setethfuckers rise up”, a reader/Seteth work that garnered a lot of attention and then was suddenly deleted from AO3, and nobody knew where to find it ever again.

So, uh, that fanfic was written by me. I deleted it because I’ve given up on wanting to write anything for AO3 due to their policies and how they made me uncomfortable. But that doesn’t mean I should deprive all of bottom princess Seteth.

Like think about it. A woman from a basically extinct species of ancient dragons obssessed with having her mother back, for years and years conducting experiments and creating test subjects to adquire the power and HEART from her mother and turn them into her, all the while being the head of religion of the land and dictating what is sacrilegious and what isn’t, even hindering technological progress, and at the same time fighting against the people that wiped her people in the first place by subjugating all under her order, until eventually she succeeds- she creates the perfect vessel. The perfect equilibruim of strength and speed, with all of her mother’s powers, and at the cost of overwriting them as a person. A perfect killing machine that will listen to her and her only.

But the new trailer dropped and not only Shez is thr fucking funniest thing I’ve ever seen, but:

1- This is an AU where Shez goes to Garreg Mach instead of Byleth, and AS A STUDENT;

2- Shez has a PERSONALITY and CAN TALK;

3- It seems that Shez being there stops Dimitri from becoming an offensive portrayal of mental illness and makes Dedue the hottest man alive.

In other words, a motherfucker who looks like they were colored by a five year old is suddenly fixing most of 3 Houses’ problems.
