I think one of the most damaging ideologies towards children is the conviction that having children isn’t a calling but a moral obligation.

Not to be a crazy radical or anything, but children deserve to be deeply wanted by their parents.

and WHY you want to have a child is important too. my ‘parents’ had me to save their failing marriage and once i started to become even slightly more autonomous than a baby doll they stopped treating me with the respect, patience, and dignity that any human deserves from their parents. not to air out my trauma, but being born for a specific function SUCKS ASS and you should not do that to your child.
