The first ever 3D-printed steel bridge has opened in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It was created by robotic arms using welding torches to deposit the structure of the bridge layer by layer, and is made of 4500 kilograms of stainless steel.
The 12-metre-long MX3D Bridge was built by four commercially available industrial robots and took six months to print. The structure was transported to its location over the Oudezijds Achterburgwal canal in central Amsterdam last week and is now open to pedestrians and cyclists.
More than a dozen sensors attached to the bridge after the printing was completed will monitor strain, movement, vibration and temperature across the structure as people pass over it and the weather changes. This data will be fed into a digital model of the bridge.

The worldâs largest semi-submersible heavy cargo ship âBOKA Vanguardâ Is strange and cool !!! A method in which the hull is submerged, the ship is pulled into the center, and then the ship floats and is transported again. The transportation capacity of 110,000 tons that can carry the entire oil drilling base is amazing !! â The introductory video is also elegant and nice.

Inside one of the restored âMeisterhäuserâ.
The inheritance of Bauhaus includes, of course, the school building, but also the remaining teachers' houses. The teachers called themselves master instead of professor. Renowned inhabitants included Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Lyonel Feininger, Georg Muche, Laszlo Moholy, Johannes Itten and Oskar Schlemmer. Today the Masters' Houses serve the noble aim of hosting exhibitions. In the house where painter Lyonel Feininger used to live, the Kurt Weill centre is now established, and in the Kandinsky-Klee house one can now admire an exhibition about the last director of Bauhaus: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Playful Duo Captures the Fun and Joy of Interacting With ArchitectureÂ
Creative duo Daniel Rueda and Anna DevĂs find wonder in seemingly ordinary places. As two former architects, they incorporate elements of buildings into their whimsical compositions in which a model (often DevĂs) is perfectly coordinated with different facades or blends into the scenery.

Less than 100 of these prefabricated, fibreglass homes were constructed during the 1960s and 1970s, so they became collectible items scattered around the world.
Raised off the ground on thin supports, their designs include ellipse porthole-like windows and a hatch that doubles as steps required to climb inside.

Foldable Car - G by GOODesign
This is the first foldable car design. The former 3D printing modeling of the car requires support, making it difficult to produce neat results. However, the folding design does not require any support, and it is possible to express all parts neatly. It has redesigned its structure because it is the first car folding method is applied. The basic structure of this is based on the structure of the folding robot-K, and the lower part of the car is designed by applying the sliding method. The selected car is a G-wagen of Benz which is easy to model because there is no curved surface. This design opens the hood and allows the interior to be seen, and the features inside the engine are described in detail. Spare tires can be folded and unfolded. The wheels are of course rotation. Based on this structure, many cars will be introduced in the future. I hope you have many expectations!

Nachtwacht 360 is a Replica of Rembandtâs Night Watch with 3D Printed Props
âNachtwacht 360" by photographer Julius Rooymans and fashion designer Hans Ubbinkis is a photographic replica of âThe Night Watchâ painting by Dutch artist Rembrandt brought to life with the help of 3D printing.
Visitors to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam canât miss one of the most famous Dutch Golden Age paintings â The Night Watch by Rembrandt. This painting is famous for its huge size and its subtle use of light.
Recently, the 17th-century piece has been the focus of attention for photographer Julius Rooymans and fashion designer Hans Ubbink who have created a photographic replica of the work using 22 lookalikes and several 3D printed props.
âAt the time, Rembrandt first portrayed all those people individually and then made a composition of it. That is happening now. Iâm going to photograph the Night Watch, with the same composition, the same costumes. And therefore also the same headlines,â explained Rooymans.
This new work is called âNachtwacht 360âł (âNight Watch 360â) and isis on display between July 4th and August 4th at Oostenburgermiddenstraat 101, Amsterdam. It involves all of the lookalikes being styled to match their painted counterparts. To create exact replicas of items such as helmets and weapons, Rooymans and Ubbink enlisted the help of Dutch 3D printing company, Oceanz.
3D Printing Rembrandtâs Helmets and Weapons
The artists explained that, although finding 22 lookalikes was a tricky task, sourcing 17th-century clothing was even more difficult. They worked with collectors in the Netherlands and used old and new techniques to develop props.
It was searching for helmets that proved to be the most difficult task as Rooymans and Ubbink found that Rembrandt had painted helmets which didnât exist outside of his imagination.
To recreate these props, the artists began working with Robin BrockĂśtter, a 3D designer, who created models which could be 3D printed by Oceanz. The resulting prints were of helmets, collars and a partisan.
Frank Elbersen, a sales engineer at Oceanz 3D printing, said: âAs a professional and Dutch 3D printing company, we at Oceanz are happy to be involved in the Night Watch 360 project. How beautiful is it to be able to bring this Dutch masterpiece from the 17th century to life with the innovative and modern technology of today?â
