12.11.18 Hi everyone a really quick upload today because as you can see Iâm so busy! This is how Iâm trying to lay out my planner recently as it gives me really clear cut tasks, and breaks it all down and makes it feel good to tick them all off, but thereâs not as much room for looking pretty! Xxx Emily
12.15.18 // Tbt a couple weeks ago when I decided to rewrite my last sociology lecture notes of the semester. This was before finals started and everything was crazy and rewriting these gave me a lil bit of peace for a while. Thankfully I now only have 1 final to go! Christmas break here I come!!Â

14.11.
i wish my life was as neat and tidy as my study space
I was actually productive today; yahoo!! finished some letters, worked on my grad school application, and figured out some things for my student loans. someone once told me that if you canât find motivation, finish the easy tasks first so you gain the courage to do the big tasks. that worked well for me today!!
studygram // previous post
âď¸annotating sources for an essay on female historyđ˛ || (2/100 days of productivity)
⢠studying female history can be so depressing when you realise how badly they were treated in the past⌠but it makes me realise just how fortunate we are now and how far weâve come.
this is why i love learning. đ
a list of untradtional study tips
buy new/pretty stationery; i love buying new pens and notebooks so much that iâll easily get through re-writing notes i had been putting off
create a few study playlists; since instrumental/classical music helps improve brain functioning, have a selection of ones you like, but also add in the odd soft lyrical song. take a break every time a song with lyrics comes on and work during the instrumentals. it should be in a 5:1 ratio (instrumental:lyrical) that way you will work for 20-30 minutes with a 5 min breakÂ
make your study space smell good; light a candle, or a smell that you enjoy, try to use the same scent every time to trigger memory recollection. mint and vanilla are my favs!
write down how much time you spend studying for a test and then the grade you got; then you can figure out how time you really need to spend to get a good grade. this will help you use your time more effectively
read over your notes before you sleep; this allows for neuron to be killed and myelin pathways to be made! which means learning and understanding, yay!
get done up; you donât always need to study in comfy clothes, putting on makeup and a nice outfit can put you into a âletâs get shit doneâ mood
make you notes pretty; itâs more visually interesting to study and can me more fun to write and make, which helps you learn while you write them!
GET EXCITED. Find some books that you really want to read and make a list of them to motivate yourself. Remind yourself why you like to read. Dredge up that childhood excitement and love.
MAKE IT A PRIORITY. Reading is not a difficult task. Itâs just that most of us fail to make it a priority when we factor in the rest of our responsibilities.
ALWAYS CARRY A BOOK WITH YOU. Youâre more likely to read if you have a book within reach, for practical reasons and because itâll remind you of your reading. Bring a novel with you to school or a cafe just in case you find a few minutes to read.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LITTLE SLOTS OF TIME. If you take public transportation, read on the bus. Read in the five minutes before class starts. If there is a time slot when youâd usually be browsing your social media to pass the time, read instead. I promise itâll make you feel a lot better about yourself.
MAKE IT A HABIT. If youâve decided that youâre going to read on the bus every day, read on the bus every day. Block out a time that is dedicated to reading and make it a habit.
GET OUT OF READING SLUMPS by reading short books, pageturners, or graphic novels to build momentum.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS. Get a goodreads, make a spread in your bullet journal, keep a spreadsheet, or keep a piece of paper to track what books youâve read and whether you liked them. Itâs satisfying to look back on your year and see how many books youâve read. You can even keep track of how long youâve read in a day, or how many pages youâve read in a day.
INVOLVE OTHER PEOPLE. Buddy read with someone (be it your mom or an internet friend). Watch booktube videos. Join a reading group on Goodreads. Friend me on Goodreads! Involve other people so reading becomes integrated into other aspects of your life.

2019.1.1
i started a new challenge- 1:40
In 2019:
- do more things that make you forget about your phone
- do not compare yourself to other people: trust that you are progressing in your own way
- keep your heart soft, remember that there are genuinely kind people & good things in the world
- finish what you start
- be consistent, and do not be swayed by temporary moods or criticisms from people who donât matter.
- smile more often
- be okay with being bad at something
- do not blame yourself for people who make you feel unworthy. find new people to talk to and donât isolate yourself even if you feel awkward or unlovable. donât convince yourself that youâre better off alone.
- go outside more often and find beauty in small things
- read more books
- be the kindest person you can be
- be so busy you have no time to be bored or dwell on the past
- learn to be patient. donât rely on instant gratification, wait for the sense of accomplishment after completing a daily goal or achieving a long-term goal
- see bad days as a chance to start again
- always remember that negative thoughts are not the truth. you can do amazing things even though you may feel stupid. you are worthy of love and self care even though you may hate yourself. you deserve kindness and friendship and unconditional love even though you donât feel that way. people donât hate you even though you think youâre unlovable. you made mistakes and had bad times but thatâs ok - you can always start again.
