He's a mascot (also referred to as Max) for a brand of ice cream from an Australian company called Streets, founded in 1920 by Edwin 'Ted' Street. He' meant to act as your usual loveable animal mascot to help hide the cold unfeeling corp-folk behind him. Ya know, something for the kids.
And then, SOME FUCKING HOW, an animated series was made in 2005 as an attempt to promote the mascot on a larger scale, crated by The Monk Studios based in Thailand. We ain't taking about that right now, no, we're talking about the CGI animated stuff that got made in 2011 (yes i know there's older stuff originally starting in 2005 WHAT DID I SAY WE AINT TALKING ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW), and somehow ended up in my childhood. I swear this shit just appeared in my house one night.
THIS SHIT is the most stupid, bargain bin, PS2 background characters looking ass garbage, and it will continue to be my Roman Empire and I refuse to explain myself.

Father basically got killed on screen, a whole kingdom full of people are enslaved, children get turned to stone, and I'm pretty sure there's one plot point where one kid causes an entire genocide.
