Letters to my Dog

My heart still misses you and loves you as much today as I did when you were a tiny ball of fur.

I still talk to you everday.

I miss you, I love you

Hey boy, 

It’s been 4 long years since I last felt your fur under my fingertips, since I last cuddled my face into your neck and it’s not any easier. In fact it hurts just as much now as it did then. It’s gotten easier, time heals all wounds I guess but if I was given the chance I’d still do anything I can to have you back here with me. We still talk about you, laugh about all the crazy stuff you did and that helps. I still feel you around now and then, when I’m down and need something to lean on I know you’re there. 

You’re still on our minds. I still love and miss you as much as I did this time 4 years ago. 

I love you, I miss you. 

It’s been a long time since the last time I ran my hands through your fur but I can still feel you under my fingers. 

Many people will say I should be over it by now, that you were ‘just a dog’ but you weren’t. You were my dog. You were my heart and I loved you more than anything. I still do. 

We still talk about you, it’s easier to do but it still hurts deep down inside but you were the most amazing dog that ever lived. I love you boy and if there is an afterlife I know you’ll be there waiting for me. 

Until we see each other again I’ll keep writing to you because it helps.

It's been almost three years that you've been gone. Many probably think i should have forgotten all about you but that will never happen. You will be in my heart until I take my final breath. Why? Because of the dog you were. You're never far from my thoughts. It's easier to talk about you now but the thought of you still brings tears to my eyes. At all times, even when driving on busy roads. 

I don't believe in heaven but I hope with everything that I am that I will see you again one day and its that hope that helps me every day.

Hey boy,

I'm sitting here at work and what happens? A white hair, two appear from nowhere. One on my keyboard and one on my top. I was thinking about you and then there they were. I couldn't believe it. I know you're always around and i know you know i love you as much today as i did when you were 7 weeks old. 

I love you and miss you every day.
