I love Dark!Josie but I think that her storyline deserved more episodes to be properly developed. Try to think of this: after breaking the sandclock and escaping the prison world Josie seems 100% herself and noone, even she, notice any difference. But then when she’s alone or people isn’t looking at her the camera focuses on her face and we can see for a second a stone-cold look in her eyes. And at some point she meets again Kai. He teases her, tells her that she’s only a little girl who doesn’t stand a chance to win the merge, and she in a fit of rage hits him with a sort of magic wave. Josie thinks she has killed him, and is hella scared, she’s has faced monsters before but that’s the first time she’s has take the life of someone. She tells Alaric everything, seeking for help. And here things starts to get very bad. Alarics is forced to come clean, he reasurres her: she couldn’t have killed Kai ‘cause he has already done it. Josie is confused, she hasn’t imagined it, it was real. She needs air, she has to get out of there, she needs to feel safe e to calm down, so she goes where she and Landon used to watch their movies. And that’s where she sees him, lurking in the dark with a crooked smile. She can’t escape or hide from him because he DOESN’T EXIST. HE IS THE DARK MAGIC THAT’S SLOWLY TAKING AN HOLD INSIDE HER MIND, showing itself as Kai since to her he is the embodyment of evil. Josie tries to resist, but the dark magic is too powerfull and takes the lead. Dark!Josie knows very well how to disguises herself as the sweet Josie who everyone loves, to do what she has to noone have to suspect her. But then something makes (Lizzie? Hope? Landon? All of them?) realizes that she’s not OK, and that’s how the battle to bring Josie back begins. Also I’ll really love to see the dark magic show up as Josie even when it’s out of her, Nina Dobrev switching from Elena to Katherine with a single glance was one of my favourite thing in TVD, and Kayley Bryant has already proved she can knoked it out of the park.
