Three month ago we moved into our new flat in Hamburg. Finally it starts to feel like our home. We are still looking for new and old things on flea markets auction houses and on our travels. Most sundays you can find me on flea markets…I just love to get surprised by nice treasures.

The first day of sun after 5 days of heavy rain. What a joy. We walked down west to the end of our beach front and picked up all the little plastic donuts (German: Schwimmer) that keep the net above the water while fishing. The water, salt and sun made the colours fading away and gave them a colourful look.

The storm that just past made the waves leaving what we have tossed in the ocean. We walked down the beach and found bottles, shoes, tons of plastic bottles, fishing supplies, plastic bags and dozens of other trash. I think we forget sometimes that we destroy our nature. We think if our local beach is clean because someone picks up the trash for a fee that we pay to use the beach that the ocean is bigger.

The people here don’t know where to dump all the trash. It would be a never ending task with every float that comes. So the people just leave it as it is and waiting for the waves taking the plastic with them again and we forget about it again.

We think the earth is so big and the world so wide and we are so small but the footprint we left is gigantic.

Back in my second home (Sweden). I love the island, the sea, the wind, the food and the people. It always feels like coming back home as soon as I enter my family house. Sometimes I wish I could follow my mothers roots and move to sweden….maybe someday.
