You should be able to purchase some old character you like for a cheap ass price bc at the end of the day it's a little plastic toy!! Every IP after and before the specific 2000-2009 IPs like batman, starwars, Indiana Jones and LOTR are exempt from it and it's very clear why.

These were the toys of a generation of children who have grown up and decided to either hoard them to sell for "profit" or whom have decided to pay stupid high prices for a nostalgia kick, and the latter option always comes back around to the former once that nostalgia kick wears off. These are fucking toys, and they should be in the hands of people who love them, not the hands of whoever thinks they're worth the most
