Depressed and homosexual

Like, quick summary, a girl from the precolony era is the only survivor of her tribe(?) Because the colonizers killed everyone BUT she gets saved because her tribe is very connected with nature and it's kind of like magic? But in the sense that the earth is like sentient and so they can interact with it in ways that look like magic ANYWAYS,,, the earth saves her and she ends up in a goddess temple(?) Where a girl that lives there (I don't remember how they were named) nurses her back to health and so she starts living with her, in secret ofc because if anyone finds out there's still one person from that tribe alive she's SO dead (the fact that they are one of the few people who can still do "magic" makes them get hated by tye other tribes(?)/communities??? Idk)

So in one plot we have this girl with survivor guilt who cannot deal with the fact that all her people's cultures will dissappear the moment she's dead, and so she starts painting her story BUT ALSO she paints so many portraits of the girl who saves her (because they're LESBIANS), this is important later

On the other plot, this other girl find out that the colonizers plan to do the exact same thing with HER people and so it's a Cassandra situation where they don't belive her until it's too lateThey fall in love and on one point they say that "they will find each other in every life" but then the earth says OK BET because that's her favorite daughter ykAnd so they do,

I actually have other 3 stories with these characters in different periods of time because I feel like they weren't good enough and maybe changing the context would help and then I was like- what if all these stories happend in the same universe lol

And one recurrent thing is that in all lives, the girl makes some form of art to immortalize the other one, and every single one includes a bird (which is the phisical (? Representation of the earth consciousness) until one day, many lives later, they make the connection, mostly because in some of the works it doesn't makes sense for the author to even know the bird because of location and all that, plus the constant of the gray eyes)

The problem is that, even though each life has their one plot, there is not a main conflict, I don't know what happens after they find out because there is no conflict outside their own lifes plot, and even those are not really worked on
