Lert and all

Happy birthday. You’re 30 today and we all still miss you so much.

A lot has happened since we last saw you. People have gotten married, there’s a few more dogs around too, and friendships have changed shape and form. That was always going to happen though. 

I reread the letter I wrote you when you first left, and it’s all still so true. We still all cry when we miss you, but we are all smiling a lot more when we see you. You are still the inspiration and drive for most of us to be better people and to do more fun things. Because it seemed that everything you ever did was with a spring in your step. 

We still ask ourselves the same questions, but we’ve just come to accept that we won't get any answers for the time being. And we’re learning to be ok with that. One day we might understand. 

Just please know that I still love you to the end of the earth, and I hope that everything I do each day is making you so proud. 

I don’t know how.

We spent a bit of time together. I was excited to see where it went. He was erratic though, couldn’t keep to one thing which kinda annoyed me.

He would talk about himself all the time and I would tell him how wonderful I thought he was, but I would never hear anything back.

And then suddenly he was moving north and we never saw each other again.

And I wonder if he ever thought about me; wondering what i was up to

and now I’ll never know.
