The warmth of her father’s practice waiting room hit Alana’s cold cheeks. It was a welcome respite from the cold outside. They’d planned to meet for dinner, but it seemed he was running a little late with one of his patients. She took a seat, and before she knew it her eyes were closing…having just worked a 12 hour shift at the hospital.
The patient he’d just saw was suffering from severe insomnia. After some therapy and prescribing him something to help with it, the patient was on his way. It was finally time for the dinner date he’d promised to his daughter. He opened the door to the waiting room only to see Alana dozing off in one of the chairs. A smile pulled on his lips, his foot nudging her leg to wake her up. “Time to go, love.”
