Help, Not Just Anybody
Tyler explained her location the best she could before hanging up and leaning against the side of her car. Her dad had warned her about investing in such an old car, but she couldnât help herself. It was a vintage powder blue mustang convertible. A friend of hers worked with cars and was gonna put a new engine in it, restore it to itâs former glory, but that hadnât quite happened yet. Thatâs why she was now stranded.Â
It didnât take long for her professor to get there, but by the time she had, Tyler was resting her head back against the headrest with her eyes closed. She jumped a little hearing her professors voice. âIâuhâŚIâm not sure, honestly. Not long.â She ran her hands over her face, pushing her hair back. âSorry, Iâm just exhausted and thenâ Well, this happened.â She sighed, tucking strands of hair behind her ear.Â
âThanks for coming to get me. I didnât mean to fuck up your break. I didnât have anyone else to call.â She explained, for the second time. When her professor moved from the door, she got out and dusted her hands off on her jean shorts. She was in her usual work uniform, but her professor was a bit under dressed and that made her smirk. âIâm glad I caught you leaving the beach and not just sitting at home.Â
Leonie smiled warmly and waved her hand, âItâs no problem, really. I was just working on my tan..canât say it was going too well..â She motioned to her body and shrugged. âAlright well, letâs get you where youâve got to go shall we?â She hooked her thumb in the direction of the Lexus and side-glanced the other woman.Â
With that Leo began walking back to her car, pausing just before she reached it to question Tyler about the car situation. âDo you have someone coming to tow it? Should we wait for them? Iâd hate for such a pretty car to get messed up or stolen.â Leo had always been a fan of cars, and Tylerâs Mustang was absolutely no exception.Â
âWhereâd you find a car like that anyway?â Most college students couldnât afford pizza two nights in a row, much less a car like that. After the question left her lips she grimaced, she shouldnât be so into Tylerâs personal life--this was strictly pleasure. Right?
