The life dragon said, "See you in the next cycle" before she (almost) died. Obviously it totally could be an avatar type situation, but that line specifically made me think of it as more akin to Norse mythology and how a lot of people see Ragnarok as a loop that repeats.

We know that the source dragons predate firstborn and firstborn predates the fsm (both of which are mega old by now) and -- while I wouldn't put it past Wu to have known but not said anything -- I think that the green ninja could be a part of a cycle of the entire mortal existence and that's why nobody in Lloyd's vicinity knew about it. It's why the forest relies on a "call" rather than actual knowledge about it.

idk however it is, I think it's mega unlikely for the realm of Ninjago as we know it now to have ever had a different green ninja. I know the whole situation is a retcon anyway, but I think it would be super difficult to write in a not-jarring and confusing way. That said it's Ninjago so they just kinda throw whatever new stuff together all the time😭😭
