god i really should start adding notes to my bookmarks

i vividly remember it being recently finished and having a bittersweet if a little ambiguous ending

the first chapter ends with robby breaking up with dennis before he leaves for his sabbatical, and dennis, already having a pretty bad day, goes to a bridge and almost does it before he snaps back and calls trinity to pick him up

dennis' mom is briefly mentioned and it runs in his family to be depressed, and hes always felt like this and thought it was normal since his mom was like this too. he gets a therapist and starts meds

it has some side effects and he tells al-hashimi that hes starting therapy and meds. some time later langdon finds him having a panic attack and says hes either depressed or on drugs, and dennis says both

robby comes back from his sabbatical early and visits dennis, they try getitng it on but dennis doesnt get it up, so they argue and robby leaves
