LAMENT

Howdy, y’all, it’s finally time for me to break down and archive this blog and move the muse to my multi. I originally wasn’t going to do this, but seeing as I don’t spend enough time on this blog to justify it having its own url, I’ve decided to merge it instead!

Mikaela can’t help the smile that grows on her face. It’s oddly liberating to play this game with them, it honestly gets boring. The claws of The Entity inch closer and close to it’s prey.

The witch obliges, a small gasp escapes her lips as she………..manages to wiggle free. The look on her face makes it clear that she was not expecting that.

“Um-” Claudette races towards her and pulls her away and towards the gate. She doesn’t even fully process it, her mind can’t comprehend that what happened actually happened.

That smile is enough.

The cenobite cannot help but to roll its featureless eyes as she makes the attempt. Of course, it’s only ever seen a survivor escape the hook by their own hands two or three times now -- the likelihood seems low enough for some degree of security. It’s when Mikaela foists herself off of it, however, that the cenobite is forced to reckon with its own hubris.

Next time, it won’t make the mistake of letting the last one get away.

Standing at the hook, arms folded in defeat, the cenobite huffs a sigh as it watches Claudette pull the switch down and shove Mikaela through the open gate.

She can see the claws of The Entity start to form around the hook. Is it really going to throw the trial just to watch her? There is always the option of trying to free herself, but there comes the risk of even further injury.

Another strangled laugh, then coughing up blood. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea.

“Well….enjoy the show then.”

Another generator ignites with a loud mechanical sound. With one of her comrades remaining, the cenobite has done its job. The entity will be placated, if nothing else.

“I think I shall.”

Ah, her comrade, Claudette Morel. She stands just outside of chasing range, crouching and pointing hither and thither to try to lure the cenobite away from the hook. Good. She can watch Mikaela flirt with her captor from afar.
