Hi!

It’s been a while since I last posted anything here. But I’m fine, don’t worry. 😊

At the start of the year, I was really excited to take on a new challenge, but building a vault is very difficult, and my first attempt was far too big. I wanted to build small apartments for my Sims, just like in the “Fallout” series.

I was too ambitious and lost my motivation very quickly 😅 – so I’m going to put this project on hold for now – but I’ll come back to it one day. Perhaps in the winter, as I’d like to play in my small neighborhood of Purple River again first.

I just finished watching the second season of Fallout. And i'm totally hooked. 🤩 I've never played the games, but i came across The Sims 4 Vault-Tec Challenge. And i found the adapted rules for The Sims 2 by @beatricecrumplebottom which you can find in the comments.

Now I just have to think about how to design the vault, especially since I want to stay CC-free. Decisions, decisions. 😬

I also found this Fallout tumblr @fallout-ts2. Ahhh, so many possibilities.

Time to set it up!

In 2025, I played a lot in Purple River. It started with R18 Nova II and ended with R19 Nova III – so I played a complete round! 😁

@creesims said Cyjon made mods to disable the different networking rewards. The one that ends in CheapCatalog will stop townies from giving your Sims the buy mode discount. I don't know if it will reset Sims who already have it but it's worth a try

You could also use the Magic Wand of Awesomesauce to fully depreciate items so they're not being sold at full price, but it will depreciate everything on the lot. I have a post here that explains how it works

Mini-Deck Tutorial by Jellybeanery

A long time ago, @jellybeanery shared a tutorial for a house with a "mini deck’" Somehow, I still have a PDF file with this tutorial. I couldn’t find a post about it here or anywhere else, so I thought I’d share it with you. All rights belong to Jelly. I just copied and pasted the images and text. Also, you can't expand the layout once you've used the Grid Adjuster, so think about what you want the house to look like beforehand. I'm going to show you how to make a mini deck :) I think they are super cute, and I use them often.

I never see anyone showing pictures of this, so that's where I come in. What you will need: Grid Adjuster

For this tutorial, I am only using a 4x4 lot, but it's the same with any size. So just build your house like normal (where you want the rooms and such).

Those tiny squares are where the deck is going to be, the rest will just be the foundation.

Slap some floor on the top, then save & quit.

Open up the Grid Adjuster and use these settings. Click finish, exit, and then open up your game.

And there it is! I built a tiny empty house on this:
