If Saturday welcomed the coronation European Jimmy Vicaut of 60 m, the first in history to a French Christophe Lemaitre confessed he was "tickled in (s) on pride" thinking about the full season air to come.
"I watched the race at home. It made me a little scared in the semifinals with a start that was not good. But he recovered well for the final .'s English (James Dasaolu beaten to a photo finish, ed) a confirmed his time and it was not played much, "said Christophe Lemaitre, who has not welcomed Vicaut directly but asked Emmanuel Biron - 8th in the final - to" pass the word. " "It's a good thing for the French sprint, there is a good level of competition. It makes me want to be ready for this summer (...) Jimmy is a bit of everything at once. It is a rival on the track, a colleague at the relay, and outside is someone with whom I meant well. "
"There I will have to work hard to maintain my status, it will be much confidence (...) I refuse to be beaten on 100 m""Still, I was a little tickled my pride, because I'm not as alone, he nevertheless recognized. Aubière A(February, there had been largely defeated by Vicaut de France championships indoor, ed), I was not the conditions for the fight. There I will have to work hard to maintain my status, as he will be confident (...) I refuse to be beaten on 100 m. " The pupil of Pierre Carraz resumed sessions twice daily since the beginning of the week, after evacuating the latest gene-related pain psoas that forced him to forfeit the 200 m championships in France. " all goes well, the injury does not bother me more, my next appointment is now Penn Relays in late April, early June before the Interclub, "he added. (With AFP)

How is your ankle? I feel almost no pain. Monday, I should be able to start running. In the meantime, I work the weights every day. How did you get hurt exactly? It was during the award ceremony at the Interclub (Dijon). I was in a rush, I ran up and it was a bit of a mess. There was a table (that he jumped) I was so excited and I wanted to release it. But I cleared too quickly ... In any case, I am not mounted on it. Does it mean that you are always a little wacky? Always, yes. But it is also what allows me to run fast. Among the decisions to be more professional, which is the hardest to implement? I started the workouts twice a day and it does not bother me. Aerobics is a big project and I'm already jogging longer: two laps racetrack at each session, which is twenty minutes whereas before I did nine or ten. It's still very tiring. It was also planned to have more treatment sessions, it does not bother me. But nutrition is a big project. I started but it is still far from the result. I try to vary my meals more even if it is a little hard to eat fish and vegetables. But it is not yet as if I ate everything. It is a way of life that I must change.
Do you an idea of your program this winter?
We will do as in previous years, with two or three more meetings: France Championships (February 16-17). And perhaps the European Championships (March 1-3). Indoors Gothenburg is not completely removed, but we do not know yet. How have you experienced the weeks following the Olympics? I was a little tired and a little dried mentally too. A little low morale because of the results ... This is largely my fault. Because I had lifestyles that were not the ones I should have had. 2012 is one year rotten? That's for sure! Apart from the Championships in France and Europe, and my last meeting in Rieti, it has been a year rotten, that's for sure! I want to delete. Do as in 2011 with medals and running under the regular 10' sec. "

Christophe Lemaitre Ankle Injury at Dijon
Christophe Lemaitre is a little sneaky. Reached by telephone in the bus at the Interclub Youth in Dijon on October 28th, Ledauphine had hidden the fact that Christophe's left ankle was already surrounded by ice. Earlier in the day, it was indeed twisted after Christophe was celebrating by jumping for joy during the awards ceremony at Dijon. A simple sprain, confirmed the next day by a radio station. But it has still cost two weeks of classical training. Since then, the sprinter will merely work on weights for the upper body and a little stretching after leaving his crutches. It looks like regular training will resume early next week.
