If they were long dead then how exactly did the Clans pick up the locals' traditions (and how much of it is the same)? If they WEREN'T dead then why are ONLY the Clans still around? The Old Verse suggested that everyone was already gone but was the author mistaken as Volo (and later Cynthia) seems to be Celestic or more of a "the glory days are gone so what remains is still nothing"?

But the Galaxy Expedition is just... so much more blatant with the early stages of colonization and are Actively being shitty on camera so of course they're likely responsible (directly or incidentally) for whatever bullshit happened between PLA and DPP. I'm still a little bitter about Exile (and that they were willing to do it ON DAY ONE in a land they viewed as deadly is a huuuuge dickmove). But also! The Clans! While I don't recall what/if anything the Miss Fortunes did for exile (or got fed up with in each of their original groups), but the mere fact that we have confirmed bandits AND overall official status of religious differences making each Clan "the Heretics to be Defeated"...
