Okay so I got pinged (thrice!) by a blog claiming to be tumblr security. With a random letters username, saying that my posts are blocked from others' sights, and insisting I go to some third party site to confirm I'm me. Being All Scary about how I have only so much time to confirm. And as an enticement promises Free Tumblr Premium as an apology.

Now, I'm not entirely sure because I did just get a new machine so it could be all "!!! Unfamiliar Tech!!!" but it could also be a bot track people with new machines for potential phishing scams. I checked on an alternate device and saw my prev post on the tag.

So. Doubt.

So I've been avoiding upgrading from Win10 to Win11 for the longest time inhumanly possible and finally had to bite the bullet with a new machine (thankfully they had a returned model at a fraction of the price that was basically bought and returned for some reason).

So I am struggling at first with the new layout, working out if I need to block GTP on the machine (spent a while installing firefox and remembering all the steps I took on that too), confused as to where the prtscreen button went... and... ... okay so I have a question.

... I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some Monsters who are in full denial that Humans or even the sun are a thing since the they've lived long enough Underground to forget what humans look like (or even what they can do) and that one npc who's like "are you a star, can I eat one".

But a Barrier Denier would probably be on par with the Flat Earthers who insist that the horizon curve doesn't mean a thing and photos of the planet are just a painted ball. Like by Game Era it could be like "its just a hoax, a story. Bet the King didn't even have a son. Where's the queen? Has anyone heard from her??? How's anyone fooled by a weird painted wall in the king's basement? Are we even really underground? We have a blue sky over in Snowdin and stars twinkling in Waterfall."

So yeah I can see why Kid Gaster would just lose it. Whether the Barrier Deniers are just assholes yanking everyone's chain for lulz or are in denial because of fear/dread, or just... ignorance.

The lantern could be used to dazzle an opponent during combat in low-light conditions. The object was part of the collection of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol and was likely intended as a technical display piece rather than a practical battlefield weapon.

First: this is extremely cool, and very smart way of getting around the issue of having to juggle a shield-and-dagger with one hand and a weapon in the other. I'd be worried if it gets stuck on anything, but that thing looks very nasty /positive in a fight. Very much "you'll regret fighting me". But also VERY much a "fancy unrealistic weapon for funsies" especially the lantern I didn't even notice it until reading the description yeah this was definitely something for showing off. But the angle of the longer blade just... doesn't work. Bit too much going on but if a few things were removed or rearranged? Sure.

Secondly: thanks to the red underside, it kind of looks like an object version of that one metal-coated snail to me:
