Scarlett was completely slack-jawed by the reply. How was she going to take the moral high ground like this? She could attempt to rile him up or insult him but… she couldn’t shame herself like that. Gritting her teeth, the princess nodded stiffly. “Very well. It will be pointless for you to avoid me as before.”
This was where she should apologize, ask for forgiveness and let bygones be bygones. But was she truly in the wrong? Scarlett didn’t think so. She was trying to protect her family and her country from one horrible, wicked man. Her father may be so lenient and kind as to forgive and forget, but Scarlett will not. She is the future of this country, as her tutors have told her, time and again. She’ll do what is right. So with the right words lodged somewhere in her throat, Scarlett offers the former gladiator an icy smile, “When you’re finished playing hero, you’ll be gone anyway.”
His grip loosened slightly from her response. He didn't realize it before, but he had subconsciously held his breath in anticipation as to what the crown princess would say next. He was relieved, though the man only allowed him a few seconds of such a feeling. For he knew from experience and fair warning that he should still remain on his feet for anything to be thrown his way.
And he was right.
"When you're finished playing hero, you'll be gone anyway."
Right in the heart. He was playing hero. It was no lie. He was playing hero in hopes of changing his ways. Her smile, was it a smile? it seemed nothing like a smile of warmth for it made him feel like his efforts will have accounted for nothing. It took him awhile to find words to say. He should not start a quarrel with her, not only because of Scarlett's status, but also because of age. Even though her words caused him pain, he would not allow himself to lose face for it would only make things worse.
"I see." He frowned. It was uncomfortable being in the garden, taking verbal attacks from the crown princess, skilled though. "Forgive me once again, but I fear that I may be needed at the training ground, Is there anything else that I need to hear before I return to the grounds?" He felt foolish for asking, but in order to avoid conflict, he would be willing to do so.

"That is quite a predicament you are in" He chewed on the tin mouth piece. It was the first time he was out of words to say to a visitor of Dressrosa.
"Perhaps, since it seems like you'd like to return to where you were, I could assist in finding a person who is heading back to grandline." It was almost a lie, though. Most people, unless they were the government, typically would not turn back that far.

He seemed to be as independent as he could without her as a support, but she could tell the strain he was putting on himself. While she didn’t want to have him injure himself further, she had been around one too many prideful pirates who wouldn’t rest as much as she would like.
As they made it into the store, she felt the stares from the citizens and felt slightly uncomfortable. It was natural to want to focus on something uncommon, but she still felt it was rude to stare so openly. Once she found an open table, she guided her new acquaintance there and waited for the waitress to come by with a menu.
"You can get whatever you want today, ok?"
It was different being guided, when after all those years, he, as the tin soldier, guided humans around the city. Never had he ever been so glad to see a seat. Moving around proved to be more difficult than he thought, though it wasn't terribly difficult. Such a feat was a small thing to an guard captain such as himself. Ex-Guard captain he added mentally. Either way, he sat down and simply waited.
He looked from the menu to the girl as she spoke to him in a way that gave off the impression that she was paying for his meal. Being unaccustomed to having someone care for him, he replied quickly. "Thank you for your kindness.... miss-?" He had only realized now that there was a lack of name exchange between the doctor and 'patient'.
There ya go…he’s ready to cut some bird’s neck!

If his tin mouth piece could, the toy soldier was slightly frowning. "Is something troubling you, good sir?" The male did look quite young to be traveling alone. Or perhaps his companions were else where.
