On OC x CC: I’m „selective sharing” with every character I ship with, in the sense that I treat OC x CC the same way I treat CC x CC, I’m only into it if I find it compelling. That means ships without lore don’t really do it for me. Nothing against people who enjoy them, they’re just not my thing and I’ll have a harder time engaging with OC x CC like that. That said I try to reciprocate energy with mutuals. Current main ships with my SDR2 OC are with Komaeda, Tsumiki, and Nanami.

If an argument breaks out in my comments section, I will most likely delete the thread once the matter is resolved. This is to prevent third parties from picking it up and extending drama that’s already been dealt with, for your sake and for mine. This applies regardless of outcome, even if we came to an understanding.

I use he/she for Komaeda and read her as genderqueer and unlabelled queer in terms of sexuality. This is headcanon on my part and I’m not claiming it as objective fact, that said, if you don’t like Komaeda gender headcanons like that this blog probably isn’t for you. That being said, in canon analysis posts, I will use exclusively he/him.

My only real criteria for this is character interpretation related, because I don’t expect the „basic criteria” to respect DNI/F anyways.

If you read Komaeda as gay and can’t be civil about queer/bi headcanons, you are not welcome here. This doesn’t mean people who see him as gay can’t interact, if you can respect other interpretations you are welcome here! It’s just the toxic crowd I don’t want here!

Heterosexual Komaeda believers, however, can see themselves out. You either didn’t play the game or you’re coping. I see people who equate fictional character sexuality discourse to real world queer-erasure as pathetic, yes, but the latter is nonetheless a community I’m not particularly fond of either.

That post came first because I needed to get a preliminary thought out before this rant that has been, frankly, years in the making.

I have no issue with people who read Komaeda as gay, that is a completely valid interpretation, where I DO have an issue is when that reading is treated as ammunition against real people in their own spaces. Curating your feed is fine (seriously, do it) but curating means blocking and moving on, and if you’re really ticked, make a post (without naming people) and not go out of your way to target real people who don’t share your headcanon.

For the record, I have little patience with people who read him as straight, as that tends to be comorbid with a plethora of other opinions I find telling. But as a sapphic Slavic girl, fandom shipping discourse is not on the same level as real world queer-erasure, treating it as such is both untrue and disrespectful. That does not mean I want to associate with the straight Komaeda crowd, but harassment isn’t the way, in this case not because I think bigots deserve respect but because homophobes probably enjoy knowing they got under your skin. It will only frustrate you more to further engage.

You should just block and move on, but if you need more reason to be a well-rounded human being…

That’s what k is for! We are not as indecisive as the English language. But, anyways, a currently functioning monarchy describes Scandinavia better than it describes Slavic countries!

The implicit premise of the cure ending is that the loving, hopeful future for a terminally ill character is one where he isn’t terminally ill anymore, as if caring for someone who is indubitably dying is a lesser or incomplete story. You could make the argument that stage 3 malignant lymphoma is rarely fatal, and curable in that stage, but the bvFTD dimension makes it especially uncomfortable to handwave away because it’s a degenerative condition…

But, I digress, because on top of all that, it doesn’t even work canonically. His illnesses are already stated to be manifestation of his bad luck, the cycle is balanced by design, you can’t have the good without the bad, so saying that his good luck cures his lymphoma and bvFTD is more a contradiction of canon than a creative extrapolation.
