i work in harm reduction and mental health at a youth shelter so I am sometimes quite burnt out and will likely post about it ooc. i also care deeply about the dignity and lives of people who use drugs, unhoused people, and people having mental health crises - and this informs how i write mel and watch the show, deeply.

don't be racist, homophobic, transphobic, zionist, Islamophobic, antisemitic, ableist, sexual about/towards minors, or stigmatizing of mental health and addiction. don't infantalize autistic, neruodivergent, and disabled people and characters.

i am an anti-zionist jew. i don't want there to be confusion when i post about being jewish ( bc i often pull from jewish themes in my writing/portrayals ) and i feel strongly it is my obligation to say it, loudly, because of the ways zionism has co-opted our culture to justify genocide. free palestine. land back.

i am an autistic writer and i portray mel as an autistic character <3. this is so important to me and so joyful for me to get to watch her and write her this way.

i write mel as a queer woman ! more often attracted to women ( dyke mel truther ) but i think its possible she could fall for a man in the right circumstances and would be willing to explore with a lot of plotting.

i don’t often write smut because it’s not super interesting to me. mel can and does have sex but I’m also tired of the “does mel king fuck?” discourse obscuring that her storyline is about a lack of connection to others and feeling alienated as an undiagnosed autistic adult with no sense of self or supports. so smut / usft posting will be sparse.

the pitt is fun because it offers a snapshot of these characters at a moment in time. largely, mel will be based off my headcanons, informed by what i interpret of the show ( as i like it ).

if you would like to break mutuals or have me unfollow you, just block me please! no hard feelings, I just find it hard to understand the intention there and if it is okay for me to refollow you. so a block gives me clarity that is very helpful.

i am plot-centric. what this means is i love to plot deeply, intertwine lore, and create unique bonds between characters. i am willing and love to have mains and exclusives, and to work these into my portrayal. it is something so special to get to watch the way a character is shaped by the plotting and writing we do together.
