Life is fleeting.
Life is a constant come and go. And in prayer, we will understand this, and so we live at the fullest. St. Irenaeus tells us that the glory of God is man fully alive.
This COVID19 pandemic showed us the frailty of human life. Amidst the technological advances, the industrial development and modernization made by man, we are still merely creatures.
I am increasingly convinced that the word prayer, which has become a functional and pious thing for believers to do, is, in fact, a descriptor for inner experience. That is why all spiritual teachers mandate prayer so much. They are saying, “Go inside and know for yourself!” We will understand prayer and inner experience this way throughout this book. As Jesus graphically puts it, prayer is “going to your private room and shutting the door and [acting] in secret” (Matthew 6:16). Once you hear it this way, it becomes pretty obvious.

Things Hidden, Scripture as Spirituality
Jesus’s counsel against fear reveals several truths, a few things he wanted us to know about the world, and about God.
First, I have not come to harm you. God’s presence should not prompt fear, for God always comes in love. Second, don’t fear the new. God’s entrance into your life may mean something will change, but unanticipated doesn’t necessarily mean frightening. Third, there is no need to fear things you don’t understand. If it comes from God, even the mysterious should hold no terror. You may not understand fully what God is asking, but this is no cause to be frightened. At the Annunciation Mary couldn’t foresee what her future would hold, but she was empowered to fear not. And at the Resurrection the disciples probably didn’t understand what, or more precisely who, stood before them, but they soon learned not to be afraid.

Prayer is more of trusting and hoping rather than demanding and expecting.
If your day is rooted in prayer, peace and stillness will remain even if the storm gets stronger.

Prayer is allowing God to remove the stones of our selfish desires even to the point of finding nothing inside. This empty tomb is not about the absence of God but about God's fulfillment of the promise of resurrection.
Prayer is all about our relationship with God. When you are in a relationship, you always nurture it through constant communication. Communication is always a two-way process. It involves listening and speaking.
