maybe bathtub wasn’t the right word for what they had.

honestly, two other fully grown adults could’ve joined them in the large tub and been fairly comfortable. the expansion of space had everything to do with the fact that akamaru was the size of a bear and nothing to do with they liked to share baths every now and then. this just came as an added bonus for them.

he had one foot balanced on kankuro’s raised knee, languidly scrubbing a wash cloth over it as he relayed some clan news he’d been mulling over. he wasn’t necessarily concentrated on the topic, but speaking gave him something to do. the silence that would ensue otherwise wasn’t something he feared; oftentimes it was the things that were left unsaid that were heard the most between them.

kiba’s ramblings had quieted just a bit to stare particularly at a toenail in desperate need of a trim when some sort of calming scent slipped beneath his nose. he could not place a name for it, but he recognized what was associated with it; aligned chakras, togetherness.

headcanon kiba knew who kakashi was before any other jonin outside of his mom.

he lost track of the number of times he smelled some weird masked guy nearby while playing in his yard and whenever he looks over his shoulder, there’s that sad trash hobo, looking like he’s about to fall apart.
