Anyway, so I died and came back and now I work overnights, doesn’t that sound familiar?? Lololol

Okay, but in all seriousness, I fell into a pretty deep depression in September, then life got busy, my computer died, I fell behind on all comics, my ability to write was near null, and now I have two jobs and one is overnight so I’m pretty exhausted most of the time.

BUT Jason seems to be waking up so I’m gonna try to get some activity back here again. Probably won’t be much, considering, and probably won’t be using icons or formatting very often as most of chances to reply will likely be while I’m mobile. Sorry about that.

                                  There are a few, of course,                    who believe this man somehow survived                             and that one day he will return.

Reminder that ALL of that was written by Grant Morrison who singlehandedly ignored 30+ years of Talia’s character development in which she was a genuine antiheroine (and added the date rape element in to the story despite it NOT being there originally at all [in ‘Son of the Demon’] and he totally perverted their love story) and even if she raised Damian in a terrible environment, they’re both victims of the cycle of abuse because Talia was raised that way too and probably was doing what she thought was necessary for his survival. The entirety of Batman Inc was extremely out of character and wildly inconsistent even within its own title and should not be used as any reliable measure of her character

It’s really not fair to pass judgment on her quality as a character based on the one guy who’s been butchering her for years

And the only way in which Talia manipulated Jason was in lying to him about helping him kill Bruce when she was really just trying to distract him long enough so that he WOULDN’T kill Bruce. In Lost Days there was no an agenda beyond that and she let Jason think independently about what he was doing even if that meant killing the teachers she found for him. Until the last issue, in which context implies that Talia had just been tortured and psychologically broken by her half-sister in Death and the Maidens, which heavily altered her personality.

wow dixon it’s almost like you just didn’t read any of jason’s appearances before writing him.

on top, we see jason bragging about stealing the title of robin and blowing dick off. on bottom, we see jason worrying that dick will take the title of robin back, but eagerly accepting dick’s offer for a team-up because, as bruce said, “hard times have given him no abundance of self-esteem.”

important reminders about jason todd:

after dropping out of education (which, given his background of poverty, was probably shitty anyway), jason todd still managed to catch up in school. better than that – he managed to achieve a 94.8 grade point average.

he also managed to learn advanced computer science as a preteen.

he was able to hack into theisraeli government’s classified files on their secret agents.

after coming back to life, jason was able to single-handedly set up a gun sale involving the penguin and leak the information about it in order to draw batman out, manipulating it so that the buyers would be late to buy himself more time and subsequently sneak up on the heavily-guarded batmobile  to plant a bomb beneath it. without getting caught. he basically came this fucking close to killing the goddamn batman, and the only thing that stopped him was his need for closure.

jason speaks english, german and russian at least.

not only can jason read lips – he can read lips when people are speaking in german.

jason conducted a one-man vendetta against the operation of the black mask, the most powerful mob boss in gotham. he was able to make the black mask so desperate that he was able to manipulate him into killing off his own lieutenants. he managed to pull off his entire plot perfectly, and the only thing that tripped him up was bruce’s determination not to kill either him or the joker.
