barkovitch is an asshole but he did not kill rank. he literally did not kill rank. a soldier with a gun killed rank. they weren't facing down an inevitable force of nature; they all died because someone chose to shoot them. the long walk continues because many people are complicit in its existence.
should barkovitch have been provoking another kid on the dead boy death walk? no. but the fact that he was in a situation where some middle school-tier ragebaiting resulted in someone's death is part of the tragedy of it. they should not be here.
