“Feira de Maio” (May Fair) is my final project for my Animation class. The goal was to create a 1 minute animation about someone’s first time doing something. I chose to dedicate this project to my father and grandfather, honoring a particularly dear memory: the first time my grandpa took my dad to the local fair, and bought him a cowboy suit and a gunpowder pistol. The animation itself was done under great time constraints, created and finished from scratch in the span of 5 days. In order to be able to finish it in time, I had to make use of loops and opt for a linework-only solution. To compensate, I chose to pursue a more expressive, detailed style for the lineart, the characters and backgrounds. The narration is in portuguese.
