“it’s not all bad, though. i mean, at least you’re still eating delicious food ─ if you wanna look on the bright side. glass half full kind of thing.”

logan nodded at his response, looking at his ice cream rather dejectedly. ‘ do you want one? ’ the male offered, ‘ i can go get you some ice cream. ’

  a muffled chuckle, sounding rather sultry for her taste, emits from estella as she averts her gaze upon logan. “then why don’t you do this, dear?” she proposes, “just try not to think of impending doom at all.”

‘ i just don’t want things happening. maybe just for a while. ’ the male mumbled, looking down at his ice cream which is quickly melting away. ‘ aren’t you at least a bit concerned towards the people you love? ’ he asked, wondering if he’s the only one who wanted to protect the people he cared about.

“Yeah,” wolf quickly nodded with a small frown on his face. “I had that need to take my sister and just run from this shitty town, but… First, it’s not like she would let me do it, secondly, no matter how much I want her safe, I am not Cassie’s keeper. She makes decisions on her own and all that,” Curtis took a deep breath and then look up at his pair again. Shit, now he felt guilty —  he was a mess for some time and this guy right here probably felt that too. “How are you holding up?” werewolf asked, surprisingly softly, head tilted a little. “How’s Cinna?”

he listened to curtis rant about how he wanted to protect his sister and he felt the same as well. if only logan could be strong enough to protect his sister and mother, he would. but sometimes it was him who needed protecting and he felt embarrassed. ‘ i totally understand your worry. ’ he let out, giving the other a pat on the back. ‘ cinna is still the same. she’s happy and it’s probably because she doesn’t know what’s happening but i notice that she’s more attentive now. like she could feel when something wrong is happening. ’

Sebastian was checking some reports when there was a quiet growl somewhere down, slightly on his left. He moved the papers so they cover his face when nephilim looked down, lifting a brow at the dog. When the growl gets a little louder, demon-blooded flashed his black eyes at the animal, making it sit. “Now, where you come from?” the blonde mused, crouching down and reaching with his hand to the dog, corner of his lips raising slightly in a small smile. (He still was much more cat person, but… Well. Curiosity.) 

cinna doesn’t usually go out from the male’s sight, which is why he usually trust cinna to not have any leash but today seemed to be an exception. logan spent at least fifteen minutes trying to look for her, which wasn’t hard as he knew that he was the only one around the vicinity who had a huge white dog, fluffy tail, and a smile that could melt anyone’s heart. when he found the dog, he noticed that she was with someone, so he jogged towards them and panted before speaking, ‘i’m sorry. about cinna... the dog! ’ he stuttered, trying to catch his breath, ‘ i hope she didn’t bother you at all. i still apologize. ’

 sepia hues feigning interest in the simple act of transfixing themselves upon polish shimmering nails, she muses, “do you believe in the calm before the storm, nephilim?”

the nephilim tilted his head towards her direction, not noticing the kind of aura the other was exuding. ‘ i guess i do... which is why i feel like something terrible is going to happen after i eat this ice cream. ’

Stella cocked her head, suddenly intrigued. “What’s a hug cake?” 

‘ huge! ’ he exclaimed, chuckling and shaking his head at how ridiculous he sounded. ‘ i meant huge, sorry. ’

“well, so as long as your thoughts continue to fleet to such territories, then is ice cream really considered happy food for you?”

‘ it still is... i mean, ’ he paused, looking down at the almost-half cone, then shrugged, ‘ i just hope these bad things stop when good things are happening. ’

Curtis lifted a brow, looking at his pair. “Please, can you not?” he said, but there was a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “But, to be honest, I wouldn’t be all that surprised… It seems that here everything is going to shit with any a little bigger event,” werewolf struggled a little.

logan looked at his pair apologetically for mentioning the past event that led them to a certain disagreement with the downworlders especially the merpeople. ‘ everytime they announce some kind of activity, it seems so suspicious now, don’t you think? ’

“At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if that did happen.”

‘ it’s a sad realization because we’ll associate tragedy with small and good things. ’

“I wish it worked that way,” she said with a chuckle. “I’d eat nothing but cupcakes.”

‘ cupcakes are good. although i prefer the hug cakes more. ’ he mused, nodding his head.

“considering all of the shit that’s been going on, i think it’s safe to say you’re not too far off.”

“ which is really unfortunate. there are so many nice moments ruined because of it. ”

    approaching to her parabatai has never been this hard before      before these days, luna wouldn’t even believe if someone said she’d hesitate to go near logan one day. but there was this unbelievable space between them that made luna way too upset and confused       yet, the blonde forced a smile on her face as she finally convinced herself to walk to where logan was standing. “hey!” she replied, her tone was cheerful unlike his. at least she hoped so. “oh      he’s busy today. you know, you kind of ask about ric too much these days, right?” a chuckle escaped the shadowhunter’s lips as she shook her head. “okay, you know what? you and i should hang out together       just the two of us. no more talking about ric, or anyone.” luna’s face softened and she continued with a honeyed tone. “i missed my parabatai.” 

Her cheerful tone gave Logan some sort of giddy feeling, a hope that maybe she preferred him over Ric but then he remembered that he wasn’t the only one she’d share that cheerful tone with and it made Logan sad about that fact. He nodded towards her response on his question, and only shrugged when she pointed out that he’s been mentioning Ric more times than the last. “Just making sure he’s treating my parabatai right.” He mentioned, glancing towards Luna to see her reaction. His heart sped up at the thought of hanging out with Luna and for the first time in days, he finally showed the woman his smile. “Okay, if you’d like that? Only if it’s okay for Cinna to join, I mean...” he faltered as the dog rushed towards them.

“Hey, uh,” he greeted awkwardly, he wasn’t expecting Luna to be by his side so suddenly, he had thought that she would be spending time with Ric. Logan was supposed to find Tessa but Luna’s presence made him stay rooted on his spot. “Not having a date with Ric?”
