Super quick break down about fathers and HCs for all my muses prepare yourself
Eliana's parents died when she was a baby. She knows her father was the clan's Keeper and that he was very skilled and respected. It's a bit of a weight on her shoulders, honestly, and part of her feels a bit...Disappointed she didn't inherit his magic to become the next Keeper for clan Sabrae.
Arik has always been a bit more bold than Cyrion, which has given his father quite a few headaches in the past. But he'll defend his father to the end, even if they choose different paths in their lives.
Dimetrea never met her father. All she knew was he went to the surface so was, effectively, dead. She does wonder about him, at times. After all, with a mother like hers, she could imagine maybe her father wasn't as bad.
Middle child energy. The spare, in case something happened to Fergus, and not the daughter to be married off for an alliance. So there were moments where Lir would act out, with silly pranks or jokes to get some attention. His father wasn't neglectful, just busy. And they had a good relationship and Lir loved Bryce dearly.
Before being taken to the Circle, Zoria was daddy's little girl without a doubt. She knew exactly what to say to get what she wanted and Aelius was more than happy to appease her. They were very close and Zoria felt anger he didn't do more stop her from being taken to the Circle.
Malcolm and Atena's relationship was complicated. They loved each other, of course, but Atena couldn't help but feel jealous fo the attention Malcolm gave to Bethany. Not to mention, she and Leandra butted heads at her unladylike manners and Leandra pushed responsibilities on her too soon and Malcolm didn't do much to alleviate that. They had their quiet moments, though, of mutual support.
Aelius was delighted at how bright of a young child Dazbo was. He was quick to catch on and Aelius was more than happy to educate him. The issue was when Dazbo would challenge him on various topics and try to push. That caused some issues before Dazbo was taken to the Circle.
Neither of Katarina's parents really know how to parent. Luis does try, albeit that does not mean he succeeds. The relationship between them feels a bit more business in style with a bit of affection showing up here and there, but no more than necessary.
Sasha's genetic father is a man he prefers not to think about. The father figure in his life was his maternal grandfather, who taught him how to use a bow and arrow, as well as some old Dalish tricks of hunting. His grandfather is a vital figure in his life and he would do anything for him.
Selena doesn't think of her life before in Orlais. She doesn't give her parents much of a thought, either. If asked, merely waves them off as stuffy Orlesians with more expectations on her than necessary.
Rajmahel's father is the lorekeeper for Clan Lavellan. Belavahn and Rajmahel share an innate curiosity and similar excitability when learning something new. They feed off of each other's energy at times, rambling on and on into the late hours about a topic.
While Aurora was closer with her mother, that does not mean she was not close with her father. He merely had a strong presence and could intimidate her, at times, even if he didn't mean to. It was always a balancing act between their personalities, which made Aelius feel guilty at times. They did care for each other, though, with Aelius calling Aurora his little Sapphire.
Hildegard and her father had a blink and you'll miss it relationship. He was always trying to make ends meet and that kept him from really developing much of a relationship with her. She would often just strike out on her own, staying out late with little care from him, as long as she came back before midnight.
Idrilla is fond of her father, who is a fount of affection to those dear to him. His cheery demeanor is a contrast to hers (even more to her mother's). She's more than comfortable to settle back and allow him to ramble on about a topic, occasionally adding a remark here or there. Belavahn is fond of how attentive and thoughtful she is, and oftentimes wishes he had her ability to think before speaking.
Inatar and her parents have a hard relationship. Having left the Qun, neither are really equipped for it. So there are definitely rough patches to it. Her father, at least, appreciates her martial prowess and sees that she was properly trained.
Seigfried and his father's relationship was very rough. Richard sought to keep a firm hold on Seigfried, but Seigfried took too much after him in his youth. The pair often butted heads, quarreling over any small thing. Even to the point Seigfried left home for a while to visit his mother's family in Ferelden. The last words they spoke to each other were in argument before his father was killed at the Conclave.
Sergio gets the award for not great father and father figure. His father was an alcoholic, abusive dockhand who didn't have a second thought about selling him to the Crows to pay off gambling debts. After surviving the initial training for purchased Crows, Sergio was 'taken in' by Emil Kortez, who saw great potential in the young man and furthered his training. There was mental manipulation, harsh training, and acknowledgement 'given when it was due.' And, given the fate of Emil Kortez, a bit of nostalgia with days gone by with hopes to return to it. Sergio was not surprised when he learned of Kortez's deals and did not mourn.
Shamut's father struggled with the fact he was a mage, at first. Magic wasn't a welcomed ability in the Qun, and even if he was no longer part of it, it was still hard. Even in Southern Thedas, there was still a negative attitude to it. But he kept him hidden, not wanting his child to be taken away. Their relationship is strained but it exists.
Ogden and Stuart have little affection for each other. In fact, Ogden strongly resent his father for the emotional neglect, the mental and at times physical abuse, and then the disownment when he learned Ogden was a mage. No matter what he did, he was never good enough for his father. He's old enough now to know that was no fault of his own, but his father's.
Elera and Rajmahel are very close. She was often seen bouncing along behind him at Skyhold as a child, not far from him when she was able to be near. He often would make reasons to go and spend time with her, even bringing her to the War Table for not super critical meetings. He tries not to spoil her, but utterly fails. Elera loves her father, but sometimes she wishes he was the Clan's Keeper and not the Inquisitor.
Geirr and his father have an...Awkward relationship. Kalju is still very used to Orzammar's stricter gender concepts and Geirr not being the daughter he thought he was is something which took a while for him to get used to. In time, Kalju started to teach him different things, at first begrudgingly due to his mother's pestering, but then more and more willingly. It took time and is still taking time, but it's getting there.
Hasheem has no idea who his father is and refuses to think on it. Thinking on that just reminds him of the situation his mother was in and how she ended up in that situation. Which only makes him angry at her family for casting her out for not having magical abilities.
Ornella's father was a Crow who seemed to vanish from Crow information around the Fifth Blight. That's the most she knows but she doesn't want to delve into it more. She figures some stones are best left unturned and to leave it at that.
Rashida and her father are very close. They understand each other very well, both having a militant mind and a more straight forward personality. They both have little interest in dancing around a subject and get to the point. This, though, at times causes friction but it eventually eases.
Talat and their father, Lazar, are both known for having a dramatic flair. And they enjoy building off of each other in the most nonsensical ways. Some might view it as strange, especially when they milk a scene for all it's worth, but it works for both of them so why change it?
Little wolf pup isn't sure of what to make of his father at times. He's still a boy, though, and there's a lot of issues wrapped up around them. He would like his father to be around more, though, and doesn't understand why he's not. Not entirely, anyway.
Being one of the first born of flesh and not created, his parents didn't know what to do with him. He was given to the Temple of Mythal, as it was foreseen he would have a special gift and his parents were followers of Mythal. That being said, Mathras had no relationship with his parents.
Vincentius has long cast off his family, embracing the step up he gained by being Aurelian Titus's apprentice. He strove to prove his worth to Aurelian, gaining the Magister's approval and becoming his heir.
