Ok... does anyone else have days where you're internally feeling like a male character and you're emulating their style, and the next you feel feminine and super sexy.... or is it just me? Gender fluidity? Help!
Also, Laurence or Gabrielle... which name suits me best. Joke's on all of you, I'm not telling you my actual name so it will be non biased as an answer.

âI Finish This Projectâ
I donât know if midterms have passed or not because my courses arenât exam based and all my professors have been on strike the past week and a half. But if anybody is still in need of this sigil, keep it in your work area while youâre working on your project, or draw it on one of the tools youâll be working with. This also works with job or career based projects.
Wall of Fire Property & House Protection Spell
Intent: To protect a house and property from unwanted intruders.
Timing: Full moon
Supplies:
Dragonâs Blood powder or oil
Ground sea salt
Cinnamon stick
Peppermint leaves
Bowl of water (at least 2qt size, like a mixing bowl)
Optional: red food coloring or hibiscus tea bag
Note: If Dragonâs Blood is not available, you can substitute chili peppers, hot chili powder, or tabasco sauce.
Preparation:
Make an infusion with the cinnamon stick and the peppermint leaves, about a cupâs worth. Combine this with the Dragonâs Blood and ground sea salt in the bowl of water. If desired, add a few drops of red food coloring or swirl the hibiscus tea bag in the water to add red color.
Stir slowly, pouring your will to protect your home and property into the bowl as you do.
Take the bowl outside to your property line. Walk all the way around your property, sprinkling the water along the line. Invoke whatever deities, ancestors, or personal or household spirits you feel are appropriate and ask them to help protect your home, or simply reinforce the casting with your own will. Say whatever words you choose. If it helps, imagine the droplets of water springing up as tongues of fire when they hit the ground.
Reserve some water and use it to wash the thresholds and windowsills. If there is anything left, keep a little bit in a bottle in your kitchen, on your altar, or wherever you feel is appropriate. If you have asked anyone for help, leave them a little thank-you offering. (I find bread or cake and a bit of wine do the trick nicely.)
The idea of this spell is that you place a magical wall of fire around your property and your house. Any intruders coming onto the property may find themselves getting a a hot bite on the foot and should not wish to remain.
I've been asked about accessible resources for learning more about French Canadian witchcraft and guys!!!! I found a great one! A blog called Courir le Loup Garou. courirleloupgarou.org
Enjoy!!!

What are some daily witchcraft things you don't personally do anymore, but would recommend to new witches?
I'm gonna go a little off the rails from your question, hope you don't mind. I do some of this stuff and I've maintained most of my witchy habits throughout my practice.
Ideas for your Witchcraft Routine
Daily:
Meditate
Pull a tarot card
Ask the pendulum a question or two
Interpret or at least journal your dreams
Pick some witchy items to carry on you for the day
Pray to any deities (if you have them)
Weekly/monthly:
Cleanse your tools
Cleanse your space
Charge your tools/crystals
Add energy to/add new layers to/redo your wards
Give offerings to your deities
Make moon water
Take note of current/oncoming moon phases & what you want to do for them
Take note of any supplies you need more of
Look at your notes, is there anything you want to start researching or work on?
Reflect on previous tarot readings
Heritage Witch / Sorcière d'aĂŻeux - labelling my path (labels donât matter sometimes but it bothered me anyway)
Iâm happy today because Iâve figured out my witchy label for my path! Itâs always been a bit odd to call myself eclectic, because well, I seem to be focused on my ancestry and the folk Catholicism and spells they used to do in New France, Acadia and France.Â
I didnât want to label myself âHereditaryâ because well, it doesnât make sense. My path is modern, Iâm the first in the family to make it my spirituality, and its a hodge-podge of different folk practices anyway, some of them from France, which my ancestors havenât been in since the 1500s. And âfrench canadian witchâ, while it gives some idea of what I do, doesnât really give space to Acadian, Scottish, Breton and Norman ancestors and practices.
So, I came up with âHeritage Witchâ or âSorcière d'aĂŻeuxâ in French. French for me is appropriate for my path since most of my ancestry is French, and itâs basically âancestor witchâ, but in English, I figured âHeritage Witchâ works because I'm focusing on my ancestorsâ cultural heritage as a spiritual practice, and not just on the ancestors themselves.Â
It makes me feel more focused and happy about my path anyway :)Â
Anyone had to make labels for yourselves?
đĽ Burnable Spellboxes đĽ
For spells, rituals or offerings!
I just made some offering boxes to put into the wickercreature at Castlefest, so I wanted to share some ideas! I had this idea for a while and finally found some time and energy to make some.
What you need:
đĽ Pretty patterned paper (I got some paper blocks from the dollar store)
đĽ Spell ingredients/Offerings (anything goes as long as it burns)
đĽ Cord/wool/linnen ribbon (remember: natural fibers)
đĽ Optional: pretty flowers for the top!
What you do:
Find a favourite tutorial for an origami box online. I used this one. And fold your pretty papers into a box. If you want, decorate the box a bit more. I made three: one for the Goddess Baduhenna, one for Nehalennia and one for the Horned God. I designed bindrunes for them and put them on the bottom of the boxes.
I got some fresh flowers from my garden and wrote down some poems (and made my own) to dedicate to the Gods. Then I added some herbs, lots of Marjoram as a taglock (my name means Marjoram) and even a bit of my favourite perfume. I wanted to make it as personal as possible.
Now simply close them and tie them shut. I used wool in the colours that matched the deities Iâm making them for. I also tied some pretty flower to the top!
And there it is! Now my boxes are ready to be sacrificed! Of course you can substitute any offerings by spell ingredients to make it into a spellbox! Have fun, and as always, feel free to tag me when you make these! đ
Writing your Witchcraft: My 2021 Check-in
questions are sourced from baduhennasraven
I figured Iâd fill these in for 2021, see where Iâm at.Â
What draws me to witchcraft? I like witchcraft like sympathetic magic, where I work with symbolism and linked meanings to bring about an outcome I want. I like making spell jars, candle spells, necklace vial spells, and charming objects. Kitchen magic is also a favorite of mine. I like creating tasty food with hidden meanings and charged intentions. How do I see the divine? I see the divine as being a part of everything, both living and non-living. Everything in this world has energy, and its a reflection of the higher energy out there. In other words, God is an energy force that is everything in this universe. Deities are types of energies that dwell in the Otherworld. They hold jurisdiction over certain things, but the big energy is the end-all-be-all divinity of the universe. What in witchcraft makes me happy? I like the agency and the initiative of witchcraft, and the research that goes into creating spells and rituals. I love looking up information on ingredients, and writing about all that I learn. I love taking inspiration from the natural world for my worldviews and artistic imaginings. Do I want to follow a path that has to do with a little nature, or a lot of nature? I want a path that is very dependant on nature and its cycles, as I love noticing the changes and the atmospheres. I am very interested in local flora and fauna, weather phenomena, and habitats. I'm all about that circle of life. We are not above nature, but a part of it. What areas of witchcraft would I like to learn more about? I want to learn more about divination techniques like scrying with water or a mirror, ouija, pendulum magic, mediumship, sensing energies around me, and I want to learn more about local flora and their purposes. Where do my witchy talents lie? I'm good at reading Tarot cards, and I'm good at sympathetic magic that helps me stay calm and motivated. Self-care magic is awesome. I can visualize great, and draw what I see with detail.  What kind of deities, if any, do I want to honor? I want to honor deities that reflect the circle of life and the notion that nature has its own ways to exist. I'm of the belief that humans are a part of nature, and we are just at the mercy of the elements like anything else. It's important for me to honor deities that rule over this notion. I also like deities that protect the home and family. Creating a secure and balanced home is a dream of mine. How do I believe magic works? I believe magic works in that you create a sequence of combined elements, symbols and correspondences, and with that focused intention, you send energy out to the universe, and the universe uses that energy to mold the situation. It sometimes falls outside of human understanding, and the situation may not always go as expected, but the focused intention and the willpower is the magic. Ingredients are amplifiers and magnets. Simple or elaborate spells/rituals? Why? I like simple spells and elaborate rituals. I love spells on the go for self-care, and charmed necklaces for my intentions. Color magic is my favorite, and I use it in my artwork. Rituals however, I love writing the script, researching the intention and correspondences, composing odes to the deities and elements. creating rituals for seasonal changes and deity honoring.  What are my views on cursing/hexing? I'm not the type to do it, and don't have the willpower or the emotional capacity to harm someone that way, but I understand why other people do it. To each their own. Do I want to practice something similar to my ancestors? I'm starting to include Christian elements in my practice, and saint veneration is something my ancestors did. Marian veneration too. I'm also starting to research Innu beliefs to understand how this land is seen by their culture. Rituals though are either Christian or composed by me. What are the basic morals and ethics I feel I should live by? Don't appropriate something you don't understand or don't have permission to do, understand where your belief systems come from, and research all that you do vigorously. Do not harm anyone. Recognize the light in everybody, and know that even if there are evil actions in the world, lost souls are many. Some have gone too far, while others need help. What in nature am I drawn to; the ocean, animals, the trees, etc? I am drawn to coniferous forests, rivers, birch forests, major mountain ranges, the arctic and taiga, and hillsides. I am drawn to black bears and felines. I want to be closer to the ocean, but I am terrified of it and all the big animals in it, though I find it fascinating. Which (witchy) holidays, if any, would I like to celebrate and how? I love Beltane, Samhain, Yule the most. I love the energy of those holidays, and how the natural world around me looks and smells at this time. I like the liminality of Bealtaine and Samhain, where the spirit world feels closer to us and it feels ethereal. Yule is great, because it's the darkest day of the year, and I adore the winter snow's glow with the moon and the promise of more light afterwards. I love Imbolc because itâs Brigidâs Day! I'm more Easter when it comes to Ostara, so its more Christian for me. The summer solstice doesn' t do much for me, and the fall equinox does not really give much energy. How do I believe divination works? I believe it works by opening myself up to receiving the answer, and to focus my intentions on my goals. I am still rather new to other forms of divination than the Tarot and even then I'm still learning. I believe that it works by inferring on the energies people give off, and our connection to the Otherworld, the spirits and the energies of nature. Would I like to work with a group some of the time, all of the time or not at all? I like to personalize my practice, so working in a group has never really jived well with me. I get too distracted. But I would like to practice with a trusted and loving partner. Which aspects of witchcraft appeal to me most, which the least? Sympathetic magic is appealing, as is understanding the cycles of nature and how the elements function within us and outside. I like the moon's energies influencing the power of the spell. I like the visualization and the intention-setting. I don't like harmful magics or hexing. What do I believe happens to us when we die? I believe we go to our inner-most appreciated space, where we are at our most atmospherically at peace. It is devoid of physical ills and pain, and you may simply just be. Otherwise, I'm not sure of anything else. But I do believe we go back towards nourishing the earth so that living beings can keep living. How do I see mythological creatures? I see them as energy carriers of the fears and hopes of mankind. They have power, but we may choose to either honor them or defend against their energies. I am wary of trickster figures and dangerous beings. When do I feel most magical? Autumn when the leaves have turned, in the first snowfall, in the depths of winter, at the waxing half moon, at twilight, in the months of May, October, December, January and February, when the moon is full and I'm in the woods or near the ocean. How much is witchcraft woven into my daily life; is this too much, too little or just enough? Witchcraft is woven into my kitchen time, artistic skills and projects, and intention-setting spells for love, finance and self-care. It could be more involved, but I'm happy with where it is now. What kind of witch do I feel I am? I feel like I am a green witch, with smatterings of kitchen witch, art witch, and Christian witch. Which texts/quotes best describe my current path? The Path of a Christian Witch, and the book on Folk spells are the two texts right now that are important for me. They mix Christian teachings, figures and myths to witchcraft and spirituality, and I'm loving it. Norse mythology is another big one, as do texts on the way nature operates scientifically. The books on the zoology of animals in Innu culture are also very informative, as as Canadian plant guides. Do I like research and gathering info, or do I like things handed to me? I adore research! There's no other way to grow in this path. I read from many sources, I cross-examine, and I write. Which things about witchcraft worry or scare me? I worry about making pacts with forces I am too inexperienced to deal with, or go into mediumship and become estranged from reality. I am terrified of being ungrounded and unprotected. What is my favourite element? Water. I have a whole book that explains how it behaves, how it changes, and its different forms. It fascinates me. I like how it's soothing in one context, but it can also be the most dangerous element on earth. It's powerful, mutable, and morphing. It's also what I feel my inner world is like, with changing emotions, energy tides, and energetic pulls. I identify with water the most. How do I see gender (roles) in witchcraft? Gender is fluid, and we all carry energies of both genders to make something unique. While there may be consort deity pairings, I believe every deity has its own energy that does not depend on gender. Am I interested more in magic, or spirituality? I am very ritual-oriented most of the time, but I like my magic to be subtle. Do I like to be told how to do things, or would I rather figure it out on my own? A mix of both. It depends on what it is. If it's something I'm not initially comfortable with, I need someone to guide me through a book or a talk. If it's something I can create, then I'm all fine by myself. What do I gain from witchcraft and magic? I gain a sense of control over a certain situation, I can neutralize my turbulent emotions, and focus my intentions more. I grow in visualizations, and I like seeing the results of my magic when successful. It is interesting to see my magic deflect or backfire, as I've tried it with dating. Basically, I like the insight magic gives. What subject do I love to study? History, cultural history, natural processes, habitats, folk practices, myths and legends. What is my favourite type of magic; candle, sympathetic, sigils, etc? Candle, sympathetic, art, sigils, runes, kitchen, water, fire cleansing. What would my perfect witchy day be like? I would make a kitchen witch breakfast filled with intention, take my time eating it, choose a tea that is appropriate for the energy I need for that day. I would dress in my garb, grab my staff, pack my sketchbook, painting supplies, and vials/book for pressing plants, and head out to the trail. I would explore the woods and its hidden corners, I would sit somewhere for an hour and soak in its energy to feel it, and paint things that move me, and get lost in that painting's colors and atmosphere. I would collect plants in the area that I want to know more about for magic, and then I would go back home, and arrange my altars for the intentions of my practice, or study the plants I found. I would make a kitchen witch meal for supper. I would play my most witchy tunes, and light every candle I own, and dance in my space to raise my energy. I would take a walk at twilight, and sit under a tree, looking at the moon and appreciating its glow. I would end my day with a sympathetic spell under that tree, and finish the day at home with a nice herbal tea. If I had dreams that night, I would draw and color what I saw. Would I want to be dedicated/initiated? I want to dedicate myself to my path. Initiated doesn't really seem all that necessary. Who do I honor (ex: deities, ancestors, myself, etc), and how do I, or would I like to, honor them? I want to honor deities with their individual shrines for times of the year, or where they have jurisdiction (ie. Skadi during winter near my north window, Brigid in my kitchen year-round, Cernunnos in my backyard woods). My ancestors are honored in scrapbooks, biographies, and research I do on them and their cultures. Photographs too. I want to honor myself with things I enjoy, such as scents and colors, and decor. Atmosphere is everything for me. How do I create a sacred/witchy space? With a ton of decor. I am not a minimalist witch. Atmosphere-setting is my favorite thing. What do I believe is needed for a succesful spell/ritual? Intention, strength of emotion, thoughtfulness, and the will to accept the process and consequences. Which cultures do I draw from in my witchcraft? Norse (only for the aspect of their religion as being influenced by winter and their environment), French, Irish, French Canadian, Acadian, Innu-Algonquian (only the knowledge of animal symbolism and plant meanings and how nature is viewed, not the actual rituals and practices that I am not privy to.) Most of the cultures involved come from my family tree, or distant connections. What is my learning style; books, websites, videos, more hands-on? Books. I love books to no end. Websites are useful too, especially for practices I can't find in academic circles. I only do hands-on if I want to do a spell, or research a plant. What, if anything, in my mundane life influences my witchcraft? Cooking, baking, cleaning, and walking outside. What are my hobbies, how do I (or can I) incorporate them in my witchcraft? Sewing and painting can definitely be included in my witchcraft, with creating poppets, ritual robes, quilts etc with charmed colored threads and fabrics. Paintings can be charged with atmosphere, to honor a deity, or to channel my visualizations into being. What would my dream witchy life/sacred space/home look like? What steps can I take to work towards it? My dream witchy life would be to live near a farmers' market for fresh ingredients, and living from my art (painting, sewing, drawing, reading Tarot). I would live with a partner that is also witchy, and run my household magically, with protection spells at the doorways and windows, and cleansing when necessary as I do the cleaning. I would focus my witchcraft in cooking and baking. I would like to create magic with my partner. I also want to celebrate my holidays with someone special, instead of alone. My dream sacred space would be little shrines in appropriate places and times of year, with offerings done regularly. I would have a witchy cabin in the backyard where I do my spells and rituals, with a yard big enough to have a fire pit, and woods to roam in. I would have a garden of herbs and flowers where my ingredients for spells may be from. I would make my own candles with intention, and bake with ceremony. I want to set up an ancestor corner every Samhain. I want to keep a library room with all my witchy books and research books, and my antiques, so that I have a space worthy of studying in. Oh at this point, it's setting up my life as I live alone for the first time, and cultivate my relationships to make this happen. I can start by actioning and trying an aspect of witchcraft I've been meaning to do, finally do it. Do one witchy thing each day, no matter what. It can be complex or simple. What symbols correspond with me; runes, animals, flowers, gemstones, etc? Ice, snow, the arctic landscapes, mountains, snowshoe trails, black bear, house cat, fox, otter, owl, violet, rose, lilac, hydrangea, bindweed, moss, cedar, fir, pine, birch, oak, willow, autumn leaves, ivy, moonstone, amethyst, lapis lazuli, labradorite, selenite, aquamarine, Algiz, Fehu, Isa, Jera, winter, sandalwood, lavender. Cold colors, water and earth. Fire element in the kitchen and in candle magic. Am I an open and proud witch, or do I (need to) hide my craft? I'm an open and proud witch, though I hardly divulge what I do. I don't hide the fact that I'm a witch though. What are my favourite witchy items/tools; divination tool, ritual tool, dĂŠcor, clothing, etc? Staff that my grandfather carved for me with a wolf head painted on it, my sycamore with a raven feather core wand, wooden porridge stick (kitchen witch wand) Big abalone shell, crystals (Selenite ball, amethyst geode, palm-sized crystals, citrine) Fairy Tarot deck, Shaman Oracle Cards, Lenormand deck, runes, scrying bowl, magical chalkboard. Lapis lazuli pendulum with a compartment inside, clear quartz, rose quartz, smokey quartz, selenite pendulums. I have too many pendulums. My ultimate favorite is my labradorite one, divination dice. Lockets, my pentacle necklace, my fleur-de-lys sterling silver pendant, my bottle pendants, my wooden cross, my citrine and opal sun pendants, amber pendant, amethyst fairy pendant. Prayer beads (ocean, Freyja, rosary, fluorite, as well as the mini prayer beads to Skadi and Cernunnos). Linen grey dress and silver fox pelt stole, my grey and blue cape, my blue striped house dress, my brown lace-up traveling dress, my brown house dress, my bees apron, my rami mantelet, Irish wool tunic cardigan, green cotton capelet. My leather cow hide messenger bag. My ceinture flechee, house moccasins. Leather pouch talisman necklace. Watercolor set and journal, my mini altar boxes for Freyja, Skadi, Cernunnos, Brigid, my black bear claw, my moon and sun candle-holders, my trinity wooden door sign, my bells string, my ancestor images, research and notes, my tiny black bear figurine, my dream catcher with chimes. What is holding me back in my craft? My lack of action, at not following through on what I've researched and actually living it. I can read all I want, but I could do more meditation and explore more of what I research hands-on. What is my pre-spell/ritual routine? I take a shower, put on my ritual attire and makeup if needed, light my incense and candles, and play appropriate playlist curated to the ritual at hand. I need to ground with "the leaves on the trees, reach up to the sky, as their roots reach down, to the deep dark Earth." and center to "Air I am, Fire I am, Earth Water, and Spirit I am.". It gets me in the magical headspace.
as a general rule. if what weâre calling âcultural appropriationâ sounds like nazi ideology (i.e. âwhite people should only do white people things and black people should only do black people thingsâ) with progressive language, we are performing a very very poor application of what âcultural appropriationâ means. this is troublingly popular in the blogosphere right now and i think we all need to be more critical of what it is we may be saying or implying, even unintentionally.
There is nothing wrong with everyone enjoying each otherâs cultures so long as those cultures have been shared.Â
Eating Chinese food, watching Bollywood movies, going to see Cambodian dancers, or learning to speak Korean so you can watch every K drama in existence is totally fine. The invitation to participate in those things came from within those cultures. The Mexican family that owns the place where I get fajitas wants me to eat fajitas. Their whole business model kind of depends on it, actually.Â
If you see something from another culture you think you might want to participate in, but you donât know if that would be disrespectful or appropriative, you can justâŚask. Like. A Jewish friend explained what a mezuzah was to me, recently. (Itâs the little scroll-thing near their front doors that they touch when they come into their house. It basically means âthis is a Jewish household.â)
âOh, cool,â I said. âCan I touch it? Or is it only for Jewish people?â
âYou can touch it or you can not touch it,â she said. âI donât care.â
âCool, Iâm gonna touch it, then.â
âCool.â
Itâs not hard.
You want to twerk, twerk. Iâve never heard a black person say they didnât think anybody else should be allowed to twerk. Just that they want us to acknowledge that they invented that shit, not Miley fucking Cyrus.
It really boils down to three simple things:
Consent. Is the culture open to sharing this thing? (& donât cheat by finding one person who consents while most of the culture disagrees.)
Context. If a culture is open to sharing a thing but it is a thing of great religious significance, take the time to learn what is a respectful way to treat the thing. Probably donât use it as random decoration or sexualize it unless thatâs what itâs for.Â
Credit. Give credit and if possible, buy from the original creators so the money goes where the credit should be.
This is really useful to me personally because Iâve definitely caught myself losing sight of what cultural appropriation actually is, and why it matters, so thank you, and everybody else pay attention too

Easter Eggs 2021
My Easter Egg collection for this year, and I painted the violets, Peter Rabbit, and the pentacle today. The other two eggs were from 2020.
90% of writing advice can be thrown out the window for your first draft.
Show donât tell? Ignore.
Basic grammar and punctuation? Unnecessary.Â
Physical descriptions of characters? Donât need to bother.Â
Solid plot? Thatâs for later.Â
The words donât come as fast when youâre thinking of the best way to put them together. It doesnât have to be pretty, or much more than inconsistent nonsense. The point is to have it exist.
Effective storytelling is for subsequent drafts! Go write some nonsense!Â
As a hyper-perfectionist human, THIS is a piece of advice I wish Iâd internalized a hell of a lot sooner. If I hadnât overwhelmed myself by considering every little thing, starting over when it gets âtoo messyâ⌠thereâs no doubt in my mind Iâd have a first draft by now.
Now, passion is the only thing I care about in my first draft.
when iâm writing fiction, the main rule i try to stick to is that: the first draft is where i write whatâs important to me.
this usually means character arcs and deep ethical and political debates for me, but for some people itâs gonna be physical description or in-depth plotting or Whatever
your subsequent drafts are where you fill in the gaps and make things make sense, but that first draft should be everything you personally care about, and donât worry much about the rest
How to Start an Art Journal
Here are some hints and tips to help encourage and inspire you!
1. Buy a journal or sketchbook with blank white pages so you can express yourself freely without the constriction of lines. (Or if you prefer lined pages, thatâs great too!) The thicker sketchbook pages are great for practice. If you donât want to go through the trouble of buying a journal, printer paper works as a good canvas.
**Using cardboard behind your pages when painting is a good technique to help keep paint from leaking and helps it dry faster.**
2. Purchase some basic art supplies like watercolor paints, acrylic paints, spray paints, letter stencils, colored pencils, multicolored sharpies, Staetdler fineliner pens, etc⌠These supplies donât have to be fancy and expensive to work. Take some time to figure out what you like to use and what effects you want to produce with your art.
**A lot of popular journaling techniques involve creating a watercolor background and a mixed media layered effect for their creations. But, this is about you! Get creative and experiment!**
3. Use words, quotes, images, mixed media, and simple and elaborate drawings to create personal pages that express who you are as an artist and writer.
**Get out of your comfort zone and draw things you wouldnât normally draw. If you donât like what youâre creating, give yourself time to grow and learn. Itâs important to be patient with yourself and let go of your high expectations. Give yourself credit for trying and keep practicing! Donât give up!**
4. To learn more about art journaling, you can always use Google for more information, look up tutorials on Youtube, check out books from your local library, or even take online art journaling classes. Some classes are even free! There are tons of resources for you to research.
**Donât wait until the âtime is rightâ or when the âinspiration hits you.â Dive right in and go for it!**

There and Back Again - Jar Spell
The road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began Now far ahead the road has gone And I must follow if I can
For when you really really need a change in life, and want to bring in a new adventure. (Dwarves not included)
Ginger - for bringing adventure and new experiences. Be heavy handed with this one, itâs the main purpose of the jar.
Cinnamon - multi-purpose, it represents whatever your journey is about (spirituality, success, healing, protection, power, love, luck, strength, prosperity, etc. If itâs part of your personal journey, itâs probably a cinnamon correspondence)
Ground Coffee - to dispel negative thoughts, overcome internal blocks, bring peace of mind, and keep you grounded. Basically erase all doubts that might hold you back in your new adventure.
Also associated with happiness, and I always recommend having SOMETHING in your jar/sachet spells for happiness, because you do NOT want a new adventure thatâs basically going to be walking through hell and back.
Pumpkin Pie Spice - for bringing a new beginning through banishment of the old. This is one of my personal correspondences, and you can skip it if you want to or donât think you need it. I use it as an âout with the old, in with the newâ ingredient. Like autumn, and the death of the old to make way for the renewal in spring.
Powdered Egg Shell - for protection. Because as I said before, the last thing you want is to invite a new adventure only to have it turn out to be hell.
Frankincense (essential oil or resin) - for successful ventures
NOTE: If using the essential oil, I create a salt first, since I donât like adding wet ingredients to a dry jar when I can help it. See how I do it here.
I find it helpful to say aloud the intent of each ingredient as I put it into the jar, especially with something like the cinnamon, where thereâs many meanings it could have.
My hobbit brain is loving this spell!!!

Resources for Mending Clothes
We toss out over 80 pounds of textiles each year. These textiles are often made of plastic materials (polyester, nylon), made in unethical conditions, dyed with harsh dyes that often get put into the rivers, etc. Even a single cotton shirt releases carbon emissions and uses tons of water.Â
So the best thing to prevent the unsustainable growth of the fashion industry is to make sure that your clothing lasts as long as possible. To do so, mending clothing is a must. So here are some resources to help you learn how to do various things, such as sewing a button, to tailoring clothes, or even upcycling old clothing into new styles.Â
* How to sew on three different types of button
* How to hand sew on a patch on a torn pair of jeans
* How to sew up a hole in an old shirt
* How to sew a simple T-shirt
* How to upcycle old clothing into new clothing
* More upcycle and sewing techniques
* How to repair a damaged sock
* How to do an invisible stitch
* 3 different stitches to work with for different results
* How to make a T-shirt smaller so it fits you better
* How to make repairs to your shoes
These are just a few of the things that you can do in order to make sure that your clothing lasts for a long time. Nobody wants to keep buying new clothing, as it is expensive and wasteful.Â
So making alterations to your clothing, or fixing small holes hen you see them can be hugely beneficial to your wallet, to garment workers, and to the environment in the long term.Â
Mending! Itâs really satisfying, saves money, and saves the planet!
