Language is wine upon the lips.

“You’re welcome.”

“Come on, take your girlfriend out for a nice night, and you might have a even nicer one.”

“What are you talking about? Garlic smells amazing.”

“To an extent. I am smelling it in my sleep.”

“The doctors will do everything in their power, I’ll make sure of it.” He promised her. 

“Then...we tell the doctor tomorrow, and we see when we will be able to get me in for...for the removal,” she leaned back wiping her eyes and then feeling stressed, “I...I need to tell my instructors.”

He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her head. “Shh it’s okay, it’s going to be okay.” He whispered, closing his eyes. He loved her, more than he thought possible, he just wanted her to be happy.

“You can’t promise that,” she took a rugged breath and continued, “Owen, the doctors are going to make sure I am okay, right?” She knew he insisted on the best, but she didn’t know these doctors.

“And praying won’t fix it.” He shrugged. “So you need to make this choice.” He shook his head. 

“I think it is best to have it all removed,” she felt the over whelming emotion immediately and pulled him closer, “My god...”

“Maybe, but not in the same way.” He shrugged. “I don’t suggest telling them yet- you need to make this choice and quite frankly we know what your mom will want.”

“She will want me to move home no matter what stage I tell her, and we shouldn’t wait til I am out of surgery...” She moved into his arms and rested her head on his chest, “She will think praying ahrd enough will change that I am sick.”

“But at the end of the day, you’re the one who’s living it.” He shrugged. “No, but the chances are a lot better aren’t they?”

“So are you, in some ways. They are a lot better, yeah, but never know. Either way, the doctor wants decisions quickly, and I...I haven’t even told my family.”

I would assume so.

“Yes, but in the apartment or in the near by neighborhoods?”

“For what it’s worth… I think it’d be better to just take it all out. To remove any chance of you having to go through all this again. We could still adopt- we could do something to have children. But- it’s your body and it’s your choice.”

“It’s kind of our future and our choice, babe,” she said crossing her arms and looking at him as she leaned on the counter. Taking a deep breath she continued, “There is no guarantee that taking it all out..that it hasn’t already spread.”

“Yeah… we need to figure that out.” He sighed. “So what are you thinking?”

“I think...I want them to clear out just the one on one hand, give me a chance for things I have thought of wanting. Then on the other.....I don’t want you to possibly watch me go through this twice.”

“Well this way we can spend some time together before the treatments start.”

“I still have classes, and so do you. I also still have a job, babe. Plus, I havent even decided what I am going to do.”
